Creating a Continent Due: October 10

Today you are going to be a cartographer (map maker). You recently heard rumors around about an 8th continent. Your boss is requesting a map of this mysterious 8th continent. Since you don't have a lot of information about this new continent you are going to have to use your creativity to create a land!

Your map of your continent could be any size, any shape, and anywhere in the world.

It also could have any type of people, creatures, monsters, animals, etc.

However, since you are a professional mapmaker you need to make sure you have the necessary components.

1. Title (name of your continent)

2. Compass Rose (Diagram of a compass showing direction)

3. Locator Map (Shows a larger area than the main map. It shows where the area on the map is located within this larger area.)

4. Scale Bar (Shows how much space on the map represents a given distance on the land)

5. Map Key (Examines the symbols and shading on the map)
