IRONPIGS CHARITIES MISSION

Established in 2007, before the Lehigh Valley IronPigs ever played an International League game, IronPigs Charities (IPC) was created to provide educational and recreational opportunities to Lehigh Valley youth.

IPC is the philanthropic arm of the Lehigh Valley IronPigs and uses baseball as an avenue to create new and strengthened community partnerships that will progress the lives of children and adults across the Lehigh Valley.

As the non-profit sector of the baseball club, IPC is organized to provide educational and recreational opportunities for children in the Greater Lehigh Valley and provide financial assistance to charitable organizations in the Lehigh Valley area serving underprivileged and disadvantaged youth and their families. Throughout the past four years, nearly $600,000 has been donated to Lehigh Valley non-profit organizations.

ELIGIBILITY

IPC makes financial grants to non-profit, tax exempt 501 (c)(3) organizations in the Lehigh Valley. Grants are awarded to non-profit organizations related to youth education or youth recreation. Higher consideration will be given to organization that encompasses both youth education and youth recreation. Unfortunately, funding requests for activities and programs that are not consistent with IPC guidelines will not be granted. Among those are requests for buildings, endowments, employee salaries, political campaigns and activities, religious programs, individuals, fundraising events or fraternal organizations. IPC will only consider requests that are tied to a specific project and do not consider requests for general operating expenses. Grants in 2014 will range from $2,500-$10,000
