IRONPIGS CHARITIES MISSION

Established in 2007, before the Lehigh Valley IronPigs ever played an International League game, IronPigs Charities (IPC) was created to provide educational and recreational opportunities to Lehigh Valley youth.

IPC is the philanthropic arm of the Lehigh Valley IronPigs and uses baseball as an avenue to create new and strengthened community partnerships that will progress the lives of children and adults across the Lehigh Valley.

As the non-profit sector of the baseball club, IPC is organized to provide educational and recreational opportunities for children in the Greater Lehigh Valley and provide financial assistance to charitable organizations in the Lehigh Valley area serving underprivileged and disadvantaged youth and their families. Throughout the past four years, nearly $600,000 has been donated to Lehigh Valley non-profit organizations.

ELIGIBILITY

IPC makes financial grants to non-profit, tax exempt 501 (c)(3) organizations in the Lehigh Valley. Grants are awarded to non-profit organizations related to youth education or youth recreation. Higher consideration will be given to organization that encompasses both youth education and youth recreation. Unfortunately, funding requests for activities and programs that are not consistent with IPC guidelines will not be granted. Among those are requests for buildings, endowments, employee salaries, political campaigns and activities, religious programs, individuals, fundraising events or fraternal organizations. IPC will only consider requests that are tied to a specific project and do not consider requests for general operating expenses. Grants in 2014 will range from $2,500-$10,000

APPLICATION DEADLINE

Application timeline is listed below.

Applications available to non-profits – September 20, 2013 Application Deadline – October 25, 2013 at 5 p.m. Organizations Notified – mid December 2013 Grants Awarded – late January 2014

2014 IronPigs Charities Grant Application Page 1 of 4 *please bold your answers when filling out the application.

Non-Profit Organization:

Contact Name: Job Title:

Address:

City: State: Zip:

Phone: E-mail:

Total Project Budget: Total Organizational Budget:

Amount Requested from IronPigs Charities:

Name of Project:

Please answer the following questions in the space provided.

Your organization’s mission statement:

Please provide a brief description of the project you are seeking support for:

Would IPC be the sole funder of this project (Yes or No)?

If no, what additional funding have you applied for?

If no, what other funding have you secured?

Will the project be completed without funds from IPC?

If organization is not given full amount requested, will program/project still be executed?
