PUBLIC NOTICE CITY OF WINTER HAVEN
CULTURAL ARTS ADVISORY COMMITTEE (CAAC)
The City of Winter Haven is seeking persons interesting in serving on the Cultural Arts Advisory Committee (CAAC). The Committee was established by Resolution R-14-13, adopted by the City Commission at its Regular City Commission Meeting, June 23, 2014, 6:30 p.m.
The CAAC will meet quarterly at City Hall, 451 Third Street, NW. (dates and times to be determined).
The CAAC will provide guidance and recommendations to the City Commission, staff and community on items such as: The development of cultural art programs and events; Communication, dialogue and the exchange of ideas, and advocacy for the expansion and enjoyment of the community’s cultural art facilities; Potential projects and initiatives related to cultural arts; Serve as sounding board for public input pertaining to cultural art issues and opportunities; and Make recommendations regarding the allocation of City funds for capital expenditures related to cultural arts.
The CAAC consists of nine (9) members, with each member serving a single three-year term as follows: Seats 1-5 (Voting) Resident, property owner or business owner within the Winter Haven city limits. Seats 6-7 (Voting) Resident, property owner or business owner within the Winter Haven service area. Seat 8 (Non-Voting) Winter Haven Leisure Services Division Director or designee; Seat 9 (Non-Voting) Winter Haven City Librarian or designee
