Overview: The Executive is the exclusive and premiere undergraduate publication at the Beedie School of Business. A team of dedicated editors, journalists, and designers cover trending topics from corporate partner profiles and networking tips to job opportunities and student affairs.

The Executive Magazine Team is currently looking for the following positions, all of which directly report to Editor-in-Chief, Tim Lam.

Application Process: 1. To apply for a position on The Executive Magazine Team, please fill out this Application Form 2. Email your application form, resume, and, if applicable, writing/design sample to Tim at [email protected] and CC the BASS HR Team at [email protected]. o Please save your documents as following: . Application Deadline: Thursday, June 5 at 11:59PM o Interviews dates and times will be set up once all of the applications have been reviewed. Interviews are set to be held June 7-14 Associate Editor: Term: 2 terms (June 2014 - December 2014), with opportunity to extend at the end of 2nd term into April 2015 in preparation to succeed as Editor-in-Chief.  Assist in the regular planning and management of monthly issues  Arrange monthly meetings with The Executive team and external sponsors, if applicable  Coordinate with external and internal organizations like businesses and student clubs in writing articles  Motivate team in the process of writing, editing and designing the magazine  Ensure that every issue is aligned with the goals and objectives of the magazine, sponsors and BASS  Coordinate with BASS in regards to corporate relations/ sponsorship and finance  Continually ensure that the internal process is efficient and deadlines are met within a reasonable time frame  Ensure that each issue is of the highest standard, including the design and writing material  Coordinate interviews  Occasionally write original articles  Contribute fresh ideas to expand and grow the magazine Journalist: Term: 2 term minimum (June 2014 - December 2014)  Obligation to attend monthly team meetings  Contribute original article and theme ideas for every issue  Contribute a minimum of one article or interview each month  Coordinate with Associate Editor on the theme of article at least one week in advance of deadline  Meet deadlines or request permission from Associate Editor for extension of deadline at least one week in advance, if needed  Coordinate with Associate Editor in scheduling external interviews by phone or in-perso

Editor: Term: 2 term minimum (June 2014 - December 2014)  Obligation to attend monthly team meetings  Meet deadlines within time frame  Able to edit up to 6 articles within a 3-4 day period each month  Completion of BUS 360W is an asset

Graphic Designer: Term: 2 term minimum (June 2014 - December 2014)  Must have previous graphic design experience preferably in publication  Obligation to attend monthly team meetings and contribute to theme of monthly issue  Work closely with partner to design and produce monthly issues within a period of approximately ten days, typically at month-end  Meet deadlines within time frame  Enrolment in SIAT program is an asset
