Vetting Category 7 Document Checklist for Candidates

Please make sure that you bring all of the required information (originals AND photocopies where stated). Example Proof of Identity A passport displaying your photograph is considered proof of your identity. Please photocopy the personal details page and make sure that the full reference number is visible on the copy.

For EEA Nationals, a national identity card is considered proof of your identity. Please copy both front and back of the card and make sure that copies and clear and complete.

This must be accompanied with either official proof of national insurance from a Government Agency, for example HM Revenue and Customs (formerly Inland Revenue), the Department for Work and Pensions, Jobcentre Plus, the Training and Employment Agency (Northern Ireland) or the Northern Ireland Social Security Agency OR a document issued by a previous employer (including Royal Mail) for example a P45, P60 or payslip. This must be followed by a positive Vetting Category 7 * European Economic Area states include; Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, The Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden and the United Kingdom.

Example Proof of Right to Work in the UK

Passport If you are using a passport please photocopy the page with the expiry date. In UK passports, this is the inside page at the back. Please make sure that the full reference number is visible on the copy.

Visa Photocopy the relevant visas which detail either a set time or indefinite leave to remain in the UK, making sure that the full reference number is visible on the copy. If the visa is expired, we must see a relevant Certificate of Application from the Home Office (not your solicitor) stating clearly that you are still eligible to work in this country. The visa must be in your current passport.

ARC If you have an ARC card you need to photocopy both sides, making sure that the copies are clear and complete.

Biometric Residence Permit If you have a Biometric Residence Permit, please photocopy both sides and make sure that the copies are clear and complete.

Birth Certificate – UK citizens only For UK citizens only, you can bring along a full birth certificate (this must be one that includes one of your parents’ names) instead of your passport. You must also bring a photocopy.

Blue Residence Permit A blue UK residence permit issued by the Home Office certifying the holder has permanent residence is acceptable as proof of RTW. Please photocopy both sides.

We cannot accept private tenancy agreements between a private landlord and tenant this includes short hold tenancy agreements)

Example Proof of Address A TV licence is acceptable for Proof of Address if issued within the last 12 months.

Or within the last 10 years for a driving licence

Please bring your driving licence, which must show your CURRENT ADDRESS and be within it’s expiry date. If you need to change your address on your driving licence please see notes below. To be able to drive Royal Mail vehicles, you must hold a licence to drive a manually geared vehicle. You will need to provide evidence if the role specifies a C1 or C & E licence. nb. Photo card driving licences issued in Northern Ireland by DVA will need to be supported by a paper counterpart. Driving licences issued by DVLA will have details confirmed online at a later date if you are successful at interview. 3. Multi Consent Form. Please print, fully complete, sign and date. 4. Additional Security Checks Consent Form. Please print, fully complete, sign and date. 5. If your names appear differently on ANY of the documents / forms i.e. through marriage, you MUST bring documents to evidence the change (eg. Marriage Certificate).

Should your application progress beyond the interview stage, further validation will take place. If your licence is issued by the DVLA, you will be required to share your driving licence details through the DVLA website. You will receive instructions on how to do this from the recruitment team if necessary.

Changing the address on a driving licence online.

You can change your address online on the DVLA website. The page can be accessed at the following address: https://www.gov.uk/change-address-driving-licence

You will need to:  have your driving licence  be a resident of Great Britain - there’s a different process in Northern Ireland  provide addresses of where you’ve lived for the last 3 years  have a valid UK passport or other form of identity  have your National Insurance number if known  not be disqualified from driving

Your updated licence should arrive within one week if you apply online.

Please bring ORIGINAL documents and photocopies, confirming that you have been accepted for course study.

Documents provided from this section MUST:  Be ORIGINAL documentation  Be issued by the educational institution where you are studying  Show the start date and length of the course  Clearly indicate the place of study  Confirm course term dates and vacation dates (for a minimum of 1 year of study)

1. A publicly funded institution of further or higher education

2. An independent fee paying school outside the maintained sector

3. A recognised private education institution which maintains good records of enrolment and attendance

You must also provide an official letter from your University stating clearly your current term dates. University letter stating current term dates.

Please note: University offer letters will NOT be accepted.

Students who apply for visas on/after 6 April 2010 who are studying at below university degree level are only able to work for up to 10 hours per week during term time. Students who have applied for visas before the 6th April 2010 are able to work up to 20 hours per week during term time. If the requirements for the role are that you are required to work more than your visa allows then you will not be allowed to progress further in the recruitment process and you will be turned away from the interview on the day.
