Our God… Can Do Anything! Page 2 It is interesting that God got irritated at her response! Why did she laugh? Gen 18:1 And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day; 2 And he lift up his eyes and 15 Then Sarah denied, saying, I laughed not; for she was afraid. And he looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to said, Nay; but thou didst laugh. meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground, I believe we need to be careful how we react to the word of God in our lives! SKIP TO VSE : 9 And they said unto him, Where is Sarah thy wife? And It’s ok to acknowledge the obvious reality but don’t mock! he said, Behold, in the tent. 10 And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And God said… IS ANYTHING TO HARD FOR THE LORD? Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him. 11 Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah The Reality is that sometimes we don’t hear well… All she heard was she after the manner of women. 12 Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, was going to have a child as a time of life which it was IMPOSSIBLE! saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also? (old & well sticken in age) The entire nation of Israel is rooted in this story… Abraham had a visitation. But God’s promise was even greater than she had realized… Perhaps it was this story among others which inspired the writer of Heb… Did you ever notice that the angelic visit came in chapter 18… (she is old) YET in chapter 19 we have the story of Lot & Sodom etc… Heb 13: 2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have Then in chapter 20… entertained angels unawares. 20:1 And Abraham journeyed from thence toward the south country, and I don’t believe in trying to spiritualize everything… But I also know we have dwelled between Kadesh and Shur, and sojourned in Gerar. 2 And Abraham to be careful not to miss certain times and visitations of God in our life! said of Sarah his wife, She is my sister: and Abimelech king of Gerar sent, and took Sarah. 3 But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and *** As an Evangelist: I met a guy camping in the woods in Moorehead, KY said to him, Behold, thou art but a dead man, for the woman which thou hast ( sometimes when a fire is dying you just have to blow on it ) taken; for she is a man's wife. Abraham was NOT necessarily expecting a word from God that day. Abraham’s faith had slipped… Because he knew that the King would want BUT HE WAS KIND TO TRAVELING STRANGERS… Sarah… and he MIGHT even be willing to Kill Abraham for her? Turned out to be angels of the Lord. POINT: in Gen 18 she was well stricken in age & past the time of bearing. They asked… where is Sarah? The angel said… “Sarah will have a son” YET SOMETHING HAS HAPPENED TO HER! She started laughing in her mind!  The King is lusting after her…  SHE WAS RIGHT: Both were too old… it was impossible. “I will return unto thee according to the time of life” God rolled back health! (they aren’t angels… their crazy birds)  God is asking NAC this morning… Is anything to hard for the Lord? VSE 13 And the LORD said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old? 14 Is any thing too Luke 18:27 And “Jesus” said, The things which are impossible with men hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, are possible with God. OUR GOD… CAN DO ANYTHING! according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son. Page 3 Page 4

I have a simple faith message this morning! GOD CAN DO ANYTHING! No advice or direction that can help you… UNLESS you can believe!

Do you receive this word this morning? Or you just going to laugh? Call me simple minded if you want… but I honestly believe… ( yeah yeah, same ole, same ole ) THERE ISNT ANYTHING GOD CAN’T FIX!

We are quick to tell others He can do anything… We do NOT have to lose our faith JUST BECAUSE we have not got our “Don’t give up! The Lord is Able! He is the God of the Impossible” answer yet! There may be a myriad of things going on around us! But do we BELIEVE it ourselves? JUST BELIEVE! HOLD ON! STAY STRONG!

Amen. UNTO HIM… BELONGS GLORY IN THE CHURCH! Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God MUST BELIEVE that he is, AND that he is a rewarder of them that I have decided to shake off my funk… Put on a garment of praise & faith! diligently seek him. Mark 9 records a terrible story… every parents nightmare… There are 2 levels of faith… The grand scale… & the human scale!  A burdened father brought his demon possessed son to Jesus. MY OPINION: No amount of counseling will help IF you don’t believe  He was considered hopeless! God is able to give you a miracle!  He could not talk or hear… only guttural sounds (home, marriage, finances, job, health, body, kids)  Foamed at the mouth like a rabid dog  He gnashed his teeth & the demons tore at him  Physically emancipated by the long spiritual struggle QUESTION: Do you have faith to believe God can fix any problem?  Father had to hold onto him constantly because the demons of suicide would try to cast him into any lake or fire… “but you don’t know what I have been through” “I been wounded”  There were scars and burn marks all over his body. YES… BUT DO YOU BELIEVE GOD CAN DO MIRACLES?  How many times had dad dove into the water to save him? Some come to my office PREDETERMINED what they intend to do. They only want my advice as to the clean up. Mark 9:19 He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long We have to many saints of God GIVING UP and quitting today! shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? BRING HIM UNTO ME. SIMPLY NO FAITH! Sometimes you just have to stand! WHEN you can’t get help from anywhere else… Bring it to Jesus! Page 5 Part 6

THIS WAS A HELPLESS SITUATION… but… Our problem is that CARNALTY dilutes our FAITH! 23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.  OUR PROBLEM IS WE ARE WEARY OF THE LONG BATTLE o And our faith is slipped… We consider the issue DEAD. JESUS WAS ANNOUNCING TO EVERYONE… GOD CAN BRING ANYTHING BACK TO LIFE THAT If you can believe that I am GOD… And that I have power over Satan. YOU HAVE GIVEN UP AS DEAD!

THERE ISNT ANYTHING I CAN’T FIX IN YOUR LIFE! Mark 5: 22 And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet, 23 And besought I love the fathers response… him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall VSE 24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with live. tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. On the way Jesus got sidetracked… by a woman with an issue of blood!

With everything I have I believe… IF there is any unbelief left in VSE 35 While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's me… JUST HELP ME OVER IT! As best I know = I believe! house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further? 25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come NOTICE: Even while your praying… Things will sometimes get worse! out of him, and enter no more into him. 26 And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, 36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler He is dead. 27 But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe. arose. He knew Satan was trying to rob him of his faith. OUR GOD… CAN DO ANYHING! There is no problem he cannot fix! We often believe ONLY to the point we think all hope is gone!

This story is in the book to remind every parent… VSE 38 And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth YOU CAN TRUST GOD WITH YOUR KIDS PROBLEMS! the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly. 39 And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel I see broken hearted parents who watch the devil hold their children… is not dead, but sleepeth.

HEAR ME… God can STILL reach your kids! Nothing is to hard for God! THINGS ARE NOT REALLY AS YOU SEEN THEM… It’s not over! Page 7

GOD DOES NOT LIKE TO BE LAUGHED AT!

HE WILL NOT ALLOW UNBELIFE TO SEE THE MIRACLE!

41 And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise. 42 And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.

OUR GOD CAN DO ANYTHING!

 When Peter needed tax money… Notice Jesus didn’t avoid taxes!   GO FISHING… Peter found the coin is in the fishes mouth.  GOD WILL WORK FINANCIAL MIRACLES FOR YOU!

Why are these stories in your Bible? So that we might believe!

THE GREATEST PROBLEMS WE HAVE ARE SELF INFLICTED. CREATED BY OUR SIN PROBLEM!

But I say to you… There is no sin God can’t break the hold of!

IF you want free… and are willing to seek God & believe… HE CAN SET YOU FREE OF BONDAGES!

OUR GOD CAN DO ANYTHING… WE HAVE TO BELIEVE!

F we can’t believe God is able to do ANYTHING… Then we really don’t believe in God at all!

YOU HAVE TO DECIDE… there is nothing in your life that is impossible with God.
