‘Young Voices 2017’ at the O2 Arena

Dear Parents,

One week to go! Tickets, T-shirts and mini-torches have been distributed and the children are getting excited as we prepare for our ‘Young Voices’ concert at the O2 Arena on Wednesday 18th January 2017.

I have enclosed timings for the day but as you can appreciate, these timings may change on the day.

11.30 -The coach leaves school. 13.30 - We arrive at the arena. 14.15 - Rehearsal starts. 17.00 - Rehearsal ends. At this time there will be a one hour break for supper. 18.00 - Arena opens for parents. (Children will be back in their seats at this time) 19.00 - Concert commences. 21.15 - Concert ends. Children must remain in their seats until the audience disperses. The coach will travel back to school where they will be collected by parents. 23.00 – Arrive at school, or later.

Checklist  T-shirts, either plain white, the official Young Voices 2017 or 2016 T-shirts. ◦ Children must come into school in uniform but wearing black bottoms ie black leggings, black trousers, black jogging bottoms and black school shoes. They will change into their T-shirts after their supper.

 Torches Remember to bring your torches.

 2 packed lunches, 1 for lunchtime and 1 for supper in a disposable bag plus drinks. We suggest disposable water bottles, preferably with a sports cap.

 A warm coat Children will keep coats and bags with them and store them under their choir seats.

 Word sheets The conductor has expressed that there are ‘No word sheets are allowed on the day’ so any last minute practise will make a difference.

But most important of all, parents can use the new FIND MY CHILD function that pin points where our choir will be seated so that you can spot us more easily.

SPECIAL FEATURE The Young Voices app hosts a secure parent/teacher photo section that allows our school to post photos of the day for our choir parents only. You must be logged in with your Parent Code in order to view the photos. Codes will be available shortly.

FareShare Charity. Young Voices support a charity called 'FareShare.' Children can contribute to this charity by donating a tin of food which should be brought to school by Tuesday 17 th January at the latest.
