In order to attach the RG to a winger there must be enough clearance between the moving parts of the winger (pouch, pulley and rubber assembly) and the hanger and white coat. If there is interference between the two devices during launch it could result in injury to people in the vicinity or damage to your equipment. The RG should also hang 4 -5 feet above the ground to provide the proper clearance for the white coat and hanger. When the coat is dropped it should clear the winger completely so it "disappears".

The RG comes with predrilled machine holes to accept machine screws. By drilling a hole thru the 1" frame of your winger a 1 ¼" x 10-32 machine screw (supplied) can be inserted thru the frame to secure the RG (see picture). Mounting of the RG to a winger is dependant on the make and model of the winger. If you cannot find a proper position to mount the RG to your winger you need to use a RG stand. Attaching the Retired Gunner to an optional stand

In the event the RG does not mount directly to your bird launcher than it will need to be attached to an optional stand (similar to a gun or umbrella stand). This can be made yourself or purchased directly from Zinger Winger Company. The RG mounts to our optional RG stand using a Flat Head Phillips 10-32 x ½"machine screw (supplied). Thread the machine screw down thru the top of the stand and into the tapped hole of the RG.

The RG also comes with a gripper clip that can be installed in different positions. It can then be mounted to a stand made from 1" round or square tubing. This allows you to quickly remove the RG from the stand without screws or tools. What you will need:

1. Coat hanger (with 3/16" diameter wire hook) 2. White coat/shirt 3. Remote receiver (Dogtra / Tritronics) 4. Ground stake (if you cannot mount the RG directly to your launcher).

Drape a white coat or shirt over a coat hanger (must have a 3/16" wire hook) and secure its buttons or zipper. DO NOT EXCEED 3 POUNDS OF WEIGHT BETWEEN THE HANGER AND COAT. Pull the latch back, insert the wire hook of the hanger into the hanger slot and release the latch. Allow the hanger/coat combination to hang loose. Connect the wire plug to any remote receiver (Dogtra or Tritronics). When you are ready to drop the white coat push the transmitter button that is linked to the RG. This should be tested before bringing out your dog to get used to its operation.
