To the Quicksilver Farm stallion,______, during the 20____ breeding season, via cooled, shipped semen. Mare owner will pay a stallion service fee of $ 1000 (Hillcrest’s Top Hat), $1000 (Land’s End Adagio), $800(Barkmeadow Black Gold) or $800 (Smoke Tree Shameful Thief). Special considerations for this contract are as follows: ______
This agreement is subject to the following conditions:
Semen will not be shipped prior to payment of the stallion service fee. A semen collection/processing fee of $150 per collection must also be paid prior to shipment. Equitainers are provided for client use free of charge, but we ask that they be returned to us within a week of arrival to your location. A credit card must be provided to us for Fedex shipping charges. Shipping is by Federal Express Priority Overnight procedure. Shipping charges vary depending on the location of your mare but are generally in the $150 to $200 range. The mare owner will pay for collection and shipping fees for subsequent shipments (if needed). While we strive for quality and timeliness, no guarantee is given with regards to quality and no guarantee is given as to the responsibilities undertaken by FedEx to assure a timely delivery. The semen transport container must be opened and artificial insemination performed ONLY by a licensed veterinarian or a trained and approved repro technician. All veterinary fees incurred by the mare owner for palpation, ultrasounds, insemination, etc. shall be paid by the mare owner.
The semen transport container (Equitainer) shall be returned to Quicksilver Farm via FedEx or UPS at the earliest possible time.
Breeding season shall commence on March 1 and continue to September 1. (Special circumstances may extend the breeding season. Please inquire if you need a shipment past the date.) A one-week advance notice of the estimated date of collection would be greatly appreciated. When the mare is ready for impregnation, contact should be made with Quicksilver Farm at least 24 hours prior to the requested collection date, no later than 10am on the day before collection. Do not assume a text or email has been received and acknowledged if you do not get a response. Please call and follow up.
We cannot guarantee shipment on same day requests, though we will make every effort to accommodate you.
Collection and shipping are subject to the show season and our travel schedule. Semen is shipped on a first come, first served basis. Please contact us for show and/or travel dates. Semen can be shipped Monday through Friday.
The mare must be healthy and in sound breeding condition. We will try to assist mare owners with their stallion choice if photos and video of the mare is provided. Please let us know if there are certain characteristics or traits that you are hoping to compliment your mare with. The mare owner agrees to use the shipped semen to breed only the designated mare in accordance with this contract. If the mare is determined to be unsuitable for breeding, the mare owner may substitute a new mare, subject to acceptance of a new breeding mare by Quicksilver Farm. This substitute mare shall be bred under the same terms and conditions as the original mare, as stated in this contract.
This contract provides for a return breeding for the following season for said mare (or agreed upon substitute) that fails to produce a live foal. "Live foal" is defined as one that stands and nurses. This will be satisfied by re-shipping semen at the mare owner's expense (collection and shipping fees). In the event no live foal is produced, we must be notified in writing by a licensed veterinarian within 48 hours of birth.
The live foal guarantee mentioned in the paragraph above is expressly contingent upon the mare owner properly caring for the pregnant mare. Proper care shall include, but shall not necessarily be limited to, proper feeding and nutrition, regular deworming with products approved for pregnant mares, vaccinations that are customary in the mare owner’s geographical area and proper intervention during foaling if necessary.
Quicksilver Farm, its officers, directors and shareholders shall not be responsible for any sickness, disease or injury, which may come to the mare as a result of breeding with shipped semen.
When the mare owner signs and returns this contract, it becomes a binding contract on both parties, subject to the above terms and conditions. This contract is not transferable or assignable without written permission. The mare owner irrevocably agrees that his/her sole recourse against Quicksilver Farm with respect to the performance or non-performance of this contract is return of the stallion service fee. Stallion service fees are not refunded unless the stallion dies or becomes unfit for service. In that eventuality, the mare owner may choose a refund of the service fee, or choose a breeding to another stallion owned by Quicksilver Farm.
The terms of this contract shall be governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina. Faxed or emailed/scanned copies shall be treated as originals.

Payment is welcome via the following options: Paypal to email:[email protected], check by mail, money order or credit card. (a 3%fee will be added on for Paypal or Credit Card payments) The stud fee must be paid in full before semen will be shipped. No exceptions.
