Parent/Player Contracts Policies and Expectations for Blackman Blaze Baseball
Name :
Please read and sign, and return to Coach Justin Entrekin before official practice begins February 15th, 2016. This agreement is effective from the date signed to the next official practice date of 2017.
Expectations of the Player
Commit to doing what is right on the field, in the classroom, and in the community. Represent the team in a positive manner and display good sportsmanship at all times. Do not use tobacco products, consume alcohol, or use illegal drugs. Do not use profanity on the playing field or in the presence of coaches. No complaining. No backwards hats on the field, inside indoor facilities, or on team bus. When arriving to games, full uniform except cleats must be worn. No sandals. Take pride in and responsibility for the facilities (i.e. field, locker room, indoor cages, etc.) that you have an opportunity to use. No throwing helmet or any other equipment at any time. You will be subject to removal from game or suspension. Attend every practice and game and communicate directly with Coach E or an assistant coach at earliest opportunity if you are going to miss a practice or game. While we can provide some flexibility for family or school situations, it is expected that you are committed to our program and team. Unexcused absences from practices and games may affect role on the team and could result in diminished participation, suspension and/or dismissal from the team. Commit to fall strength and conditioning and throwing programs. This important time prepares us for the spring season as well as begins the team building process. You cannot add to the team if you are not present. The Blackman Blaze Baseball philosophies come first before any private instructor or outside organization. Complete commitment to Blackman Blaze Baseball before participating with a new team is required. All private instruction must end from January 1 through the completion of the spring season. At least one day of a 3-day tryout in late July and the tryout on the first official day of spring practice must be attended for re-evaluation to continue within the Blackman baseball program. Expectations of the Parents
Represent your son, and yourself, in a positive manner. Display good sportsmanship at all times. Be fully committed to Blackman Blaze Baseball and the philosophies of our program. No negative comments about players, coaches, or other parents at any time should come from you or any of your extended family members in person, on various forms of social media, etc. You and/or them will be subject to removal and/or banishment from baseball complex. Show respect to officials at all times. Remember you are representing yourself, your son, and our program. You will be subject to removal and/or banishment from baseball complex. Do not approach any coaches directly about playing time issues. We will not discuss playing time issues with parents. Players will be responsible for going directly to a coach respectfully with any playing time issues. While it is the responsibility of the player to notify coaches of a missed practice or game at earliest opportunity, communicate this to Coach E as well. Significant time is invested by coaches in making practice and game plans. One player not communicating can cause adjustments to either of these, which can ultimately affect the team. Do not schedule family vacations during baseball season from the first official practice to the close of the spring season. Missing games or practices not approved by Coach E can lead to additional suspension in future games. This is Coach E’s discretion. Do not approach coaches before or after a game about a problem or an issue. A meeting can be set up by email to Coach E. Do not email assistant coaches before first discussing with Coach E. You are expected to meet fund raising goals and honor your commitments of volunteering for concession stand and gate shifts and other needs for games, tournaments, and fund raising events. Any monies paid to Blackman High School are non-refundable should a player quit the program or be removed from the program for any reason.
Consequences for failing to adhere to these expectations may result in disciplinary actions to be determined by Coach Entrekin, which may include, but not limited to, suspension or dismissal from the team. Coach Entrekin reserves the right to add or limit disciplinary action at any time.
We have read and understand the commitment necessary to be a member of the Blackman Blaze Baseball program. We will support these policies and expectations.
