Minutes of a meeting of the Planning Committee of Pershore Town Council held at Pershore Town Hall, 34, High Street, Pershore on Thursday 15th December 2011 commencing at 7.00pm

Cllr Wood advised members of her ‘dual Membership’ of the Town Council and the District Council, the statutory planning authority and as a result she would reserve her position on planning applications until the full facts were available to her in the report to the Planning Authority.

121. Minutes

It was proposed by Cllr R Grantham, seconded by Cllr J Grantham and RESOLVED that the minutes of the meeting held on 1st December 2011 be signed as a true and accurate record of the proceedings.

122. Matters of report from the Minutes

The Clerk reported that she had written to the County Council expressing members’ concerns about the proposals for the changes to the Three Springs Road junction but had been advised that the filter lane could not be extended further back due to visibility concerns for vehicles exiting Lancelot Court.

Land adjacent to Wyre Road, Pershore 139 15.12.11

Outline application for 5 hectares of employment land with some parking matters reserved for B1, B2 and B8 use. New access for pedestrians and cycles; car and cycle parking; sustainable drainage measures including storage pond for surface water attenuation; provision of utilities infrastructure and all ancillary enabling works.

Amendment:- Protected species survey report

Objection. Members were still concerned that a. this land is currently designated as Strategic Gap and there outside the current development plan for employment land. b. No additional development should take place in this area until the Western link to the A44 has been built and the necessary infrastructure in place c. there will be a considerable increase in traffic at junctions which are already over loaded d. the traffic data modelling work has been submitted incomplete and this needs to be undertaken so that an accurate view of vehicle movements can be ascertained.

Decision:- Members still agree that they object to this application on the grounds that the proposed garage is outside the building line of the property and out of keeping with the street scene. Members also request that the occupant of 9, St Andrews Road and the owners, Rooftop Housing Association, are consulted.
