JUNIOR DIVISION BASEBALL PARK RULES
ANY RULES NOT COVERED IN THIS HANDOUT ARE COVERED IN THE LITTLE LEAGUE IN THE SOPHMORE DIVISION SECTION. RULEBOOKS ARE AVAILABLE AT THE BCRD OFFICE OR ONLINE AT www.littleleague.org
GAMES: HOME TEAM WILL BE LISTED ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE SCHEDULE AND WILL OCCUPY THE FIRST BASE DUGOUT. VISITORS WILL OCCUPY THE THIRD BASE DUGOUT
THERE WILL BE A TIME LIMIT OF ONE HOUR AND FORTY-FIVE MINUTES ON ALL GAMES. AT THE TIME LIMIT WE WILL FINISH THE INNING IN PROGRESS BUT NOT START ANOTHER INNING. IF THE HOME TEAM IS AT BAT AND WINNING AT THE TIME LIMIT THE GAME WILL STOP AT THAT POINT. IF THE HOME TEAM IS BEHIND OR TIED THEY WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO WIN OR TIE THE GAME WITH THEIR LAST AT BAT
A REGULATION GAME IS SEVEN (7) INNINGS. THE GAME WILL BE CALLED IF A TEAM IS AHEAD BY SIX (6) OR MORE RUNS AFTER THE SIXTH INNING. 10 OR MORE AFTER THE FIFTH INNING. 15 OR MORE AFTER THE FOURTH INNING.
TIME WILL BE KEPT BY THE HOME PLATE UMPIRE AND WILL START WHEN THE FIRST WARMUP PITCH IS THROWN. TIME IS NOT DEBATEABLE
THE INNING WILL BE OVER WHEN THREE OUTS ARE RECORDED OR FIVE RUNS HAVE SCORED WHICHEVER OCCURS FIRST
ONLY THE MANAGER AND TWO ASSISTANT COACH ARE ALLOWED IN THE DUGOUT AND ON THE FIELD. ALL MUST BE CERTIFIED BY THE BCRD.
OFFENSE: ALL PLAYERS AT THE GAME WILL BAT IN A CONTINUOUS ORDER. PRIOR TO THE GAME COACHES SHOULD TURN IN A LINEUP WITH PLAYERS NUMBER AND FULL NAME. IF A PLAYER SHOWS UP LATE ADD THEM TO THE BOTTOM OF THE LINEUP AND NOTIFY BOTH THE SCOREKEEPER AND THE OPPOSING TEAM
DROP THIRD STRIKE RULE IS IN PLAY
BATTERS MUST USE A -3 oz. DROP BAT THAT MEETS OR EXCEEDS BBCOR STANDARDS MAXIMUM BARREL SIZE IS 2 5/8 (EX. IF BAT IS 33 INCHES LONG THE BAT HAS TO WEIGH 30 OUNCES OR MORE) STEEL CLEATS ARE ALLOWED
ARGUING BALLS AND STRIKES IS AN AUTOMATIC EJECTION
ANY OTHER RULES NOT COVERED HERE ARE IN THE LITTLE LEAGUE RULE BOOK JUNIOR DIVISION SECTION
DEFENSE: 9 PLAYERS ON DEFENSE
ALL PLAYERS MUST PLAY TWO INNINGS OF DEFENSE EVERY GAME FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN A FORFEIT IF THE OFFENDING TEAM WINS THE GAME AND THE MANAGER OF THE OFFENDING TEAM WILL FACE DISCIPLINARY ACTION BY THE BCRD STAFF
IF A MANAGER WANTS TO SIT OUT A PLAYER FOR ATTENDANCE OR DISCIPLINARY PURPOSES HE MUST FILL OUT THE BCRD PARTICIPATION WAIVER AND GET APPROVAL BY A FDULL TIME STAFF MEMBER OF THE BCRD
PITCHING: FOLLOWS THE GUIDELINES IN THE LITTLE LEAGUE RULEBOOK:
IF A PLAYER PITCHES 1-20 PITCHES NO DAY OF REST 21-35 PITCHES REQUIRES ONE DAY OF REST 36-50 PITCHES REQUIRES TWO DAYS REST 51-65 PITCHES REQUIRES THREE DAYS REST 66-95 PITCHES REQUIRES FOUR DAYS REST A PITCHER CAN THROW A MAXIMUM OF 95 PITCHES IN ONE GAME
A PITCHER MAY NOT RETURN TO THE MOUND AFTER BEING REPLACED AS A PITCHER.
ALL PITCHING CHANGES MUST BE REPORTED TO THE SCOREKEEPER IF NOT THE PREVIOUS PITCHER WILL CONTINUE TO BE CHARGED WITH INNINGS PITCHED
A COACH IS ALLOWED THREE VISITS TO THE MOUND PER PITCHER PER GAME; HOWEVER, IF HE GOES TO THE MOUND TWICE IN THE SAME INNING HE MUST CHANGE PITCHERS EVENTS: ALL PRACTICES AND SCRIMMAGES MUST BE APPROVED BY THE BCRD STAFF. IF A MANAGER OR COACH IS FOUND TO HAVE VIOLATED THIS RULE THE PENALTIES ARE AS FOLLOWS:
FIRST OFFENSE: ONE GAME SUSPENSION
SECOND OFFENSE: TWO GAME SUSPENSION
THIRD OFFENSE: SUSPENSION FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE SEASON
MANAGERS DO NOT TRY TO GET AROUND THIS RULE EVEN IF IT IS A PARENT OR SOMEONE NOT AFFILIATED WITH THE TEAM RUNNING THE PRACTICE YOU WILL SERVE THE PUNISHMENT. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ACTIONS OF YOUR TEAM
