6th grade wheel - Performing Arts

Welcome to performing arts!!! In this class you will get to learn about these awesome areas of the performing arts… team building, music, drama, rock band, choir, guitars, instruments, and watch interesting performances of things you never imagined. Get ready for a great time!

What will you need? You will need your binder every day with a pencil or pen, and paper.

Get on the train!!! Our classroom runs under the guidelines of SUPPORT. Support = respect, dignity, and equality for all. We will unpack this as we go!

Grades – class participation. I am an A student and this is what I do. A= Participating to the best of my ability Know switch on (energy), and switch off (energy) and when to use it In seat when bell rings Quietly doing bell work, and exit slip Positively participating with all activities, on task, focused, “let’s do it”! Scores acceptably on assignments and tests B= Minor struggling with some of the above areas C= Struggling in many of the above areas Performance Observation Each student will be required to attend a live performance of the Whiteaker Choirs to experience a live performance. Performance date is Oct. 27th at Dayspring Church (next door). If that one can’t be attended Oct. 20th at 7pm is the McNary area honor choir performance featuring our choir, Claggetts, McNarys, and the elementary honor choir. It is at McNary High in the auditorium. Both concerts are free.

Tow the line If a student is having trouble with maintaining there A status the teacher will give them a reminder. If they still are struggling they will be sent to the buddy room to fill out a behavior check sheet to help them narrow down on what behavior they are struggling with and what are some steps to correcting it. If it still isn’t improved upon a second behavior sheet will be done and a parent e-mail.
