Rising Year Two Animation-Hopefuls Online Registration Guidelines for Fall 2017
Dear Students,
The E-Z Arts online registration window for Fall Semester 2017 will open soon – at 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday, April 5th until 5 p.m. Friday, April 14th.
Regarding your DLA requirements, if you have not done so already, per your instructions from Dr. Puc, be sure to make an appointment with your DLA advisor for advising/course planning. Please be aware that while your DLA advisor will write down what courses they recommend you take, YOU YOURSELF MUST REGISTER FOR YOUR DLA CLASSES ONLINE. If you have completed all your DLA requirements and intend to register as a part-time student (i.e., less than 12 credit hours per semester), please set up a meeting with Renata Jackson asap to complete the paperwork for shifting to part-time).
Regarding your FILM classes, please follow these guidelines: go to www.uncsafilm.net and scroll down to and click on “School of Filmmaking Discipline Curriculum Models”;
- click on the link for “Animation,” and take a look at the course numbers listed under “Year Two,” under the column marked “Fall”;
- all of the film courses listed in the left-hand column are REQUIRED of you for the Fall Semester: FIM 5599-2: Intensive Arts – register for Section 2 only (CRN 82179) FAN 2101-1: Animation Foundations I (CRN 80298) FAN 2151-1: Storyboarding I (CRN 82186) FAR 2050-2: Sketching for Communication – register for Section 2 only (CRN 82060) FIM 2311-1: Classics of World Cinema (CRN 82188)
- You can see the days and meeting times of all these classes by going back to www.uncsafilm.net: scroll down to and click on “Fall 2017 Schedule of Classes”; Animation classes (with prefix “FAN”) and Production Design classes (with prefix “FAR”) are listed on p2; all other School of Filmmaking (“FIM” prefix) classes are listed in alpha-numeric order starting on p3.
- The online registration window will re-open on 12:01 a.m. on Monday, May 1st and remain open until 4 p.m. Friday, May 5th, so if after Portfolio Review you find you have not been accepted into Animation, you will have an opportunity to drop the incorrect courses and add the appropriate ones for a Year 2 Generalist; if you have been accepted into the Production Design concentration, please follow the separate registration guidelines for Rising Year 2 Production-Design students.
- If you have any questions about your curricular requirements, please feel free to email Joe Lopina, Steve Baker, or Renata Jackson.
If you need a refresher on how to register online, here are the very easy steps:
- log in to E-Z Arts using your 96-number and PIN; click on “Student”; click on “Registration”; then click on “Select Term” – it should default to Fall 2017; click “Submit”;
- on the next page that comes up, please click on “Add or Drop Classes”; then simply scroll down to “Add Classes Worksheet,” and plug in the 5-digit CRNs for each of your classes; click “Submit Changes”; the courses you have registered for will pop up on that page under “Current Schedule.”
