Job Title: Major Donor Fundraiser (full time)

Reporting to: Head of Communications & Fundraising

Direct reports: None

Based at: Embrace’s Amersham HQ Office

Salary: £30,327 - £33,697 per annum, depending on experience, plus pension ______

Job purpose: Cultivate and maintain effective relationships with major donors with the aim of raising money towards the annual team target.

Major responsibilities: 1. To deliver increased income from individual ‘high net worth’ supporters. 2. To act as the main point of contact for all internal and external stakeholders regarding major donor activity. 3. To undertake all necessary administration in relation to major donor marketing. 4. Other general duties as necessary.

Key tasks:

1. To deliver increased income from individual ‘high net worth’ supporters.  Achieve Embrace’s annual major donor fundraising income target and support growth in income in line with strategic plan.  Coordinate regular and appropriate database screening to identify high net worth individuals from within our existing donor base.  Research the charitable interests and other relevant background information of identified high net worth individuals.  Identify and research potential major donors new to Embrace.  Develop and maintain appropriate stewardship plans for donors and their trusts in line with the major donor programme tiers, in order to grow their levels of donation to Embrace’s work and retain their commitment in the long-term.  Organisation of bespoke events, visits and meetings, as appropriate to our fundraising strategy.  Make appropriate requests for support through face-to-face asks or tailored written applications.  Contribute to the production of promotional literature to increase major donor support.  Contribute to the development, planning and implementation of Embrace’s fundraising strategy.  Feed into a donor-centred approach to cultivating and managing relationships.

June 2015  Develop and maintain a detailed knowledge of Embrace’s work and projects.  Produce appropriate and timely communications, reports and proposals, reflecting Embrace’s funding needs and operational priorities.  Provide senior staff with briefings and reports where they are involved in developing the relationships held.

2. To act as the main point of contact for all internal and external stakeholders regarding major donor activity.  Liaise with Chief Executive, operations staff and supporter care manager as well as the communications & fundraising team.  To be visible and accessible, building good working relationships with individual donors, their families and staff; trustees and relevant fundraising networks.  Co-ordinate arrangements for overseas visits by major donors with partnerships team.  Liaise with finance and partnership teams to ensure that donations are used in accordance with the wishes of the donors.  Provide training for staff on the processes concerning major donor fundraising.  Contribute news items for the Embrace supporter, staff and trustee communications.

3. To undertake all necessary administration in relation to major donor marketing.  Become fully conversant with the functions of the Embrace database.  Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on the database.  Keep relevant, up to date and accurate prospect and donor tracking records

4. Other general duties as necessary.  Adhere to Embrace’s Policies and Procedures at all times.  Cover for other members of the communications & fundraising team as necessary.  Being proactive in reviewing and evaluating own performance and identifying and acting upon areas for improvement and development.  Undertaking, as required, any other duties compatible with the level and nature of the post and/or reasonably required by more senior members of staff.  Attend and participate in staff and team meetings as required.
