Perquisites: Required for all new students who are participating in high school sports at Westmont HS and/or have a total GPA below 2.5. Kanar, Houghton Mifflin Company, Boston.2004 Required Participation in On-Campus Events: As announced by instructor

Course Description, Objectives, and Rationale: This 1 unit class is offered by the Academic Success Center and is mandatory for all new students who are participating in high school sports at Westmont HS. The purpose of the course is too help student improve their overall academic, time management, and stress management skills as well as to serve as a forum for discussion about social coping skills to better connect the student to the Westmont High School community. Course Requirements: 1. The class will meet Daily 2. Passing with a C or better is required for high school graduation. 3. Mandatory Attendance. 3 unexcused absences will mean an automatic F in the course. 4. Grading will be determined as followed. a. Attendance 35% b. In-Class exercises 25%- c. Weekly grade check and assignment sheets 25% d. Class Projects and Participation 15% A=100-90% B= 90-80% C= 80-70% D= 55-70% F= below 55 % Class Assignment Schedule:
