Introductions (12:30 – 12:35)

Officers’ Reports (12:35 – 12:50)  President – Joe Tamburini  Past President – Jeff Berlin  Vice President –Bill Peretti o Joint Annual Conference update: . 115 of 123 indoor booths and 5 of 11 outdoor booths have been sold. . There are 177 early registrants as of 7/14/17. . Finalization of abstract selection and notification underway. . Advertising in conference program: $2,500 raised to date with the inside cover and back cover and another half page purchased. . A conference App is currently in development. . Requests for moderators has gone out. o WEFMAX report . Joint annual conference committee is considering incorporating a 1 day service project at the conference. This is an idea that was presented at WEFMAX and has been completed in several other locations.  Treasurer – Ceila Rethamel o Treasurer’s report provided via email and reviewed.  Secretary – Pieter Van Ry o June meeting minutes were approved.  Trustees – Andrea Long, Julie Smith, Stacey Walker, Hannah Wilner, Kevin Feeley, and Gragg White o Andrea Long – No Report o Julie Smith – No Report

Contacts have been made to get pricing from Vieth to revise and overhaul the existing website. o Hannah Wilner – No Report o Kevin Feeley – . The conference dinner plans are progressing with entertainment options to include a DJ, casino, and other games. . The Innovative Wastewater Technology seminar occurred the first week of July and included 75 attendees. The seminar was a success; however, it did result in an $850 budget loss, which was acceptable to the board. o Gragg White – No Report  Delegates – o Jeff Rabas – No Report o Will Raatz – Currently working on the incoming WEFTEC president event for Jenny Hartfelder including finalization of the event room contract, dinner plans, entertainment, etc. The event is from 4:00pm – 7:00pm Monday night at WEFTEC. Invitations are forthcoming.

Committee Reports (12:50 - 1:30) RMWEA Business Committees:  Awards – Jenny Hartfelder: Report made by Bill Peretti and Jeff Berlin o Selections were made for a number of RMWEA and WEF awards which will be announced and distributed at the JAC RMWEA business lunch and the Conference dinner.  Electronic Information – Greg Farmer o No Report  Finance, Accounting, and Budget – Jeff Berlin o Completed  Historian – José Velazquez o No Report  Membership – Jamie Langer o Placing orders for giveaway stock. The committee will bring forth a needs request for items which are required. o The committee is looking for an operator and a YP to assist the committee.  Nominations – Greg Woodward o Tabled to August meeting. Several positions are open.  TEAMS – Sylvia Rottman, JoAnn Vold, Kay Dudek o Operator involvement survey went to operators. The response rate was 850 surveys returned out of 16,000 sent. o Sending email blasts to promote events.

Professional Development Committees:  Biosolids –Jim Johnson

WERF and LIFT have committed $20,000 to sponsor the event which will focus on how to encourage agencies to fund innovation in their organizations. o Be aware of the biosolids conference, which is November 9 when planning. o Jeff will work with committee chairs to coordinate planning for both.  Laboratory Practices – Melissa Mimna o The committee is working on a lab database for shadowing and mentoring. o Committee also developing training videos in conjunction with CRWA and looking at sharing costs of the development. o A microbiology class in coming up in November. o Summer social with RMWQAA is scheduled for Thursday July 20th at Lazy Dog Westminster, from 4:00 – 7:00. o A tour of the Zoo occurred on June 22.  Operations Challenge – Orren West, Kacie Allard This year’s Ops Challenge Regional Competition: Friday, July 28, 2017 at Ferguson Waterworks 1788 Helena St, Aurora CO 80011 o Process control test starts at 8:45am o Collections and Safety start at 9:30am o Lunch at 11:30am o Laboratory and Maintenance start at 12:30pm 4 teams will be competing: o Littleton/Englewood Commode Commandos o Metro’s Elevated Ops o Metro’s Heroic Hites o Westminster’s Sewerside Squad The National Rep for Inserta Tee (part of the collections event) will be there but no other national judges could make it. Hopefully this means I can convince them (or guilt them) to come next year. Last year, Garney volunteered their time to move the safety platform. This is not the case this year, and the quote for this is $3,434.00. This is not something I budgeted for; however, we have money budgeted for the venue that we will not be using because of having the event at Ferguson. I think we will still be able to operate within the budgeted amount for the event. I will be submitting a press release on Monday for the event. Stacey has the certificates for your signature. Please encourage others to attend! Lunch is included.

Outreach Committees:  CWWUC Liaison – Blair Corning o No Report  Government Affairs – Jamie Eichenberger o No Report  Public Education – Anni Santos o No Report  Scholarship – José Velazquez o Scholarship applications are in and reviews are underway. A total of 10 applications for the Bill Martin Scholarship and 16 applications for the Tony Campman Scholarship were received.

Unfinished Business (1:30 –1:40)

 Strategic Spending Ad-Hoc Committee – Andrea Long o Draft RFP for paid staff to handle notes and QuickBooks duties will be reviewed. Draft with President’s comments is included with the agenda. The paid staff RFP is on the streets. It is posted on the website and Will R. has posted it to the LinkedIn site. Once we have cost information, our group will meet again to discuss all the alternatives (scholarship, Ops challenge, member pricing, and paid staff). Note: the member pricing component is being led by the membership committee and their effort will not be complete until the JAC. Because of this, it is likely we will complete our strategic spending analysis and have recommendations after the JAC

New Business (1:40 - 3:00)

o Memorial for Zach – Jeff Berlin . $2,000 has been allocated for the memorial; Lacey has compiled all submitted materials and is working on the format of a book to deliver to his family. JAC dinner memorial presentation presented by Jeff and Will. It was proposed that the sponsorship to WEFTEC be in Zack’s name for a collections system expert to go to the national collections system conference or to WEFTEC. Update to come in August. o Update on Young Professionals Mission, Vision and Values – Dan Freedman . Dan, Ashley and Jamie discussed their progress on development of a new committee Vison, Mission, Values. The board was supportive of the direction the committee has been progressing and provided direction to continue work as proposed and bring back to the board when complete. . A continued challenge faced by the committee is to get YPs to follow through on their commitments. . The student chapter coordinator role is proposed to be assumed by the YP committee. The committee is looking for clear direction from the board in August regarding this restructuring proposal. o Next meeting
