1. BRANCH COMMITTEE:

Our branch committee has seen some changes since June 2005 with the resignation of Sean Mac Bean from the position of chairperson and the election of Mervin Olivier. Sean will remain as a Committee in an advisory capacity. The committee is now:

2. FINANCIAL:

The Savings Account is R60 319.62 and the 32 day call account is R13 412.86 as of 21 October 2005. There is still numerous conference related expenses that need to be paid out of the savings account.

3. SECRETARIAL & MEMBERSHIP:

We have been promoting membership at every function and have 8 new members since July 2005

4. Conference 26-28 October 2005:

The IWM regional conference was held at the Regent Hotel, East London from 26-28 October 2005. The theme was Integrated Waste Management: What Does this Mean for Municipalities and Industries? Nineteen papers were presented on a variety of topics related to the theme. We managed attract 113 delegates to the conference. Our budget has not been completed but it appears that we have made a healthy profit.

The AGM was held on the 26 October 2005 and was attended by 18 members. 5. PROGRAMME OF SPECIAL EVENTS: The events planned as follows:

6. TRANSFORMATION

The East Cape Branch Committee is 50% PDI.

7. GENERAL:

I would like to thank Sean MacBean and the conference organizing committee for all there efforts over the past few months. With the conference behind us our focus for the new year will be to increase and address the need of members.
