SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR

We will be having just one Scholastic Book Fair this year. It will be held during the week of Nov 15-18. You may visit the book fair in Room A-9 every day after school from 3 PM-5 PM. Stop by and check out our Teacher's Wish Lists. These are books that would be good to add to their class libraries. We are also participating in One for Books. Scholastic Book Fairs will match each dollar donated up to a million books to 3 non-profit organizations devoted to helping families in need: Kids in Distressed Situations, Inc., the National Center for Family Literary and the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. See you in Room A9 for the Book Fair!

DINING OUT NIGHT AT PANDA EXPRESS: NIGHTS ADDED!

Panda Express has generously offered to host our Dining Out event for three days, November 16th, 17th, and 18th to help us raise as much money as we can for our school. Just bring in the flyer on any of the three days and Panda Express will donate 20% of your bill to Dublin Elementary. Feel free to pass along a copy of the flyer to family, friends, and neighbors who would like to help support our school. Come out and enjoy some yummy Chinese food while raising money for Dublin Elementary! Look for a copy of the flyer on our website at www.dusd.schoolwires.net/des/site/default.asp .

If you have already turned some in on paper they will be accepted, but please do not turn anymore in until the contest starts. Thanks again for all your support. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions, Michelle Guidi at [email protected] .

Please put donations in an envelope marked “Comfort and Care” and place in the PFC Shark Box located in the front of the office. For more information on the way Comfort and Care works contact Ingrid Register at [email protected] .

SITE COUNCIL CORNER: COMMUNITY FORUM DURING EVERY SSC MEETING

During every School Site Council meeting we have a “Community Forum” – a time where we address questions or concerns from the community regarding academics, safety, and the well-being of the community. Anyone may come to the meeting and speak during the community forum time. Another way to raise a concern or question is to talk with someone on Site Council who can bring your concern for you to the meeting. We on SSC want to hear from you and encourage you to talk with us anytime: Kim Banich ([email protected]), Jackie Beeson ([email protected]), Missy Calhoun ([email protected]), Nicole Common ([email protected]), Mary Miller ([email protected]),Megan Rouse ([email protected]). Our next Site Council meeting is December 8th, at 3:15 PM in Room K-5.

SCHOOL ABSENCES

If your child is not ill it is important that they attend school. Please do not schedule vacations, etc during school days. Dublin Elementary School loses $36.15 per day for each absence. Reimbursement for money lost can be made payable to Dublin Unified School District and dropped off in the school office.

LOST AND FOUND

Our lost and found is located in the Multi-use Room and is very full. Please stop by and check for items your child may have misplaced. Items not picked up by 11/30/10 will be donated to a local charity.

LABELS FOR EDUCATION

It is time to turn in your Labels for Education. For each label I mail in by December 31, 2010, the school will receive one bonus point. We use these points to purchase playground equipment. For questions, contact Paula Miller at [email protected].
