THIS WEEK IN: Math-- we will continue working on Ch. 2-Comparing and Ordering Numbers. We will discuss writing 0 and ordinal numbers. Bible—There is chapel on Thursday. Girls do have to wear their jumper on chapel days and boys wear their oxford shirt and pants or shorts. Our memory verse is Psalm 42:2. We will be talking about the 5th day of creation and what God made. Language and Phonics – we will be working on rhyme words, the days of the week, position words, and opposites. We will also work on making a list, naming words, and capitalizing important words like people’s names. We will have 1 pre-decodable book and 1 sight word. I will begin sending home sight word flashcards on a weekly basis. Please return the cards each Monday in your child’s BEE folder and they will come home by Tuesday with the new words. Science-- we will continue working on Chapter 1- The Nature of Science. We will talk about science tool and rules we have for Science class. Social Studies— we will be talking about our responsibilities as citizens and how we can solve problems correctly. . EXTRA INFORMATION I will be sending home the requirements for Level 1 of the Reading Eagles. The nightly 15 minutes of reading will help work toward finishing this level quickly. You can read to your child the required books until he/she is able to read on their own. Each Monday you will receive a newsletter like this in your child’s BEE folder. Please complete the daily “homework” then sign and return this sheet on Friday in the BEE folder. If your child is buying lunch, please put a note in his/her BEE folder and make sure to put money on his/her lunch account. Also, if your child is buying hot lunch, please don’t forget to send in a snack for the morning. I do keep some extras for those who forget but my supply is limited. If you signed up on the wish list paper at Meet the Teacher night, you may send those items in with your child any time. If you need service hours, I have some workbook pages that need torn out and it can be done at home. If you are interested, let me know and I will be glad to help you out. Please make sure to return your child’s library book on Tuesdays, so they can be sent to the library to be checked in. Bike-a-thon packets were sent home. Please sign the release form and return it to me ASAP. Encourage your child to get as many sponsors as possible. Our goal as a class is $2200 to get the day off school. Please remember that students are to wear socks with their shoes, belts with pants and shorts, and only white, dark blue, yellow, and dark green polo shirts are part of our uniform. Light blue polo shirts and girl’s button down shirts are not part of dress code.
