WSU Department Qualifications for Adjunct Faculty Status

WSU Department: WSU Number and Course Listings: Athletic Training AT 2300: Emergency Response (3 Credit Hrs.)

This form collectively represents a delineation of both USOE and WSU qualifications and requirements for the high school, the instructor(s) and the course itself. In general, during the approval process, the department will take into account the resources of the high school, as well as, the experience and background of the instructor to insure that the integrity of the course is maintained and the students are benefitted. General qualifications and requirements include:

 Possessing a valid secondary teaching certificate, a secondary endorsement in the subject area and the ability to meet “highly qualified standards” consistent with R277-510.  Being approved by the employing public school district or private institution to participate in the WSU concurrent enrollment program (CEP).  Meeting or exceeding the specific qualifications and requirements as indicated by the department for adjunct faculty status.  Maintaining the appropriate facilities and all necessary equipment to sponsor the course.

Required Degree(s) X -B.S. degree minimal, Masters degree preferred and/or -Possess a current Emergency Response Instructor Card. Certification -Possess a current Professional Rescuer CPR and AED card. -Possess a Bachelors degree with a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience or related practical experience (Certified Athletic Trainer, EMT, RN, etc)

The CEP program has a 90% attendance policy. (Please Department X list other factors that the WSU department feels is Attendance and/or important. Some latitude is given to the instructors to Absenteeism Policy implement as appropriate to their circumstances).
