An event to celebrate the annual Wine Symposium of the Finger Lakes

Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyards will team up with Master Sommelier, executive chef and winemaker, Christopher Bates and Isabel Bogadtke, owners of F.L.X. Wienery and Element Winery for an unforgettable gastronomic experience at the majestic gallery space “The Left Bank” in Geneva, NY. We invite you to join us for an evening of delicious food, impeccable wines, old friends and lots of fun. “We have planned an informal meal, served family style, to foster a more convivial atmosphere. We are all here to connect, so whether you want to catch up with old friends, meet fellow industry members, or make new connections, this dinner will be the place to be.” says Oskar Bynke of Hermann J. Wiemery Vineyard.

Culinary mastermind Bates and hospitality guru Isabel will seek inspiration for the meal from the plentitude of artisanal farmers around us in the Finger Lakes. The locally sourced farmers dinner will be paired with a selection of wines from Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard, ranging from their rare hand disgorged sparkling wine to their exclusive dessert wine. Winemaker Fred Merwarth and Oskar Bynke of H.J.W. Vineyard will act as your sommeliers and hosts for the evening. “It is an honor to have been asked to work with Wiemer’s wines. I really look forward to the opportunity to have our cuisine on display with such amazing wines. Besides, I look forward to seeing Oskar & Freds’ sommelier skills.” says Bates.

Christopher Bates & Isabel Bogadtke Together they run Element Winery and own and operate F.L.X. Wienery, an artisanal fast casual restaurant on the Seneca Wine trail in Dundee, NY.

Christopher has spent the last decade leading Relais & Chateaux properties, including the Hotel Fauchère and the Inn at Dos Brisas as General Manager and Executive Chef. Christopher is one of only 214 people in the world to become a Master Sommelier and the only Chef in the world to hold the title. Additionally he holds titles such as Certified Wine Educator and Certified Specialist of Spirits and was named TopSomm 2013 and Best Young Sommelier in the World 2012 by the Chaine de Rotisseur.

Isabel Bogadtke, recognized by Mobil Travel Guide for offering the “Best Service in the World” brings details from her five-star/five-diamond background. With over 15 years of experience in some of the best restaurants and hotels in the world, she is fully focused on delivering the best experience possible.

Website: F.L.X. Wienery & Element Winery Left Bank Gallery Space Newly restored by local entrepreneur Sophie Paillard Elkin, The Left Bank now operates as an event venue and an art gallery. A striking example of Beaux Arts classicism, this former Farmers and Merchants Bank is the only surviving bank building in town from the early 20th century, a fact which makes it one of the most conspicuous and beloved buildings in all of Geneva. Eager to protect it for generations to come, Sophie had it listed on the State and National Register for Historic Places and is currently seeking a LEED certification. Influenced by her French upbringing, her passion for all things art and her wish to bring people together, Sophie revels in the opportunity to share this architectural jewel with us.
