Game Notes: Yavapai scored four runs in the fifth inning after loading the bases. Joy Veloz relieved Jessica Flores in the circle for the Lady Mats to start the sixth inning. She allowed one unearned run on one hit without a walk or a strikeout in her one inning of work. All five Yavapai runs were unearned. Hailey Cookson put Arizona Western up in the first inning. Aylin Gutierrez hit a solo home run in the second inning to put the Lady Mats up 2-0. It was her fourth homer of the season, and it was the only extra-base hit of the day for Arizona Western. Sydney Forray cut the lead to 2-1 with a solo home run in the fourth inning for Yavapai. In the bottom of the seventh, Yavapai tied it up with a sacrifice fly from Karissa Pena before Nicole Matta hit home the winning run. Jessica Flores was hit by a pitch for the fourth time in four games against Yavapai this season. This is the first time the Lady Mats have been swept this season.
