This Spanish course is a continuation of the concepts introduced in Spanish 1. Students will develop more complex oral, reading, and writing skills. Vocabulary and reading deal with everyday situations. Students will also be required to memorize and recite before or after school oral dialogues and complete reading assignments outside of class. This course will require outside studying time and homework when needed.

Classroom Rules: 1. Be in your seat at the sound of the bell and do not leave unless given permission. 2. Raise your hand to get the teacher’s attention. 3. Follow all directions promptly and accurately. 4. Be prepared to participate. Sharpen pencils before class. Bring all necessary materials to class. 5. Treat other people and their property with respect. No put-downs or improper language. Don’t take what isn’t yours. Give others the physical and emotional space that they need.

C onsequences: 1. Verbal Warning 2. Conference with teacher 3. Detention or parents called 4. Detention and parents called 5. Office/Counselor referral Severe infractions of the rules will result in elimination of the earlier steps.

Rewards: 1. Fun learning activities (as opposed to boring book work) 2. Class time for doing homework 3. Good performance prizes such as stickers, candy, etc. 4. Lots of encouraging praise from the teacher!

When you are absent: 1. See fellow classmate to find out what you missed or come see me during tutoring times. Please do not ask me during class about absent work until the end when we are wrapping things up and there is time to do so. Thank you for your help in this matter. 2. Show teacher completed homework due during absence. This must be accomplished within the time frame established in the student handbook. 3. Pick up handouts and corrected papers that were handed back in your absence from the teacher. 4. Turn in any work collected in your absence to the teacher. 5. Make-up any quizzes or tests taken in your absence during tutoring times. Tutoring Times: Monday – Friday: 8:00 - 8:30 in the morning Monday – Thursday: 3:35 - 4:00 in the afternoon MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES Proper materials should be brought to class each day. They include: 1. Textbook, correctly covered (replacement cost: approximately $50.) 2. Workbook (replacement cost: approximately $15.) 3. Black or blue pen 4. White notebook paper 5. 1 Kleenex box

G RADING Your grade average will be determined by the following factors:

1. Homework/Daily Participation /Bringing supplies 15% Homework and Written Assignments Homework will always include:
