Amendment of Solicitation Number AP2013002, dated October 29, 2013 Amendment Number:02

Project Description The project will consist of removing and replacing windows and sliding glass doors in a 7- story, 182 unit apartment building.

Quality Assurance The services to be performed by the Contractor shall be monitored by the Contracting Office or his/her authorized representative.

Applicable Standards South Metro Housing Options (SMHO) policies and directives will guide all work. Demolition and new construction shall comply with the Codes and Ordinances of the governing bodies and applicable regulations which include, but not limited to: 1. State and local building codes 2. Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA)

Verification 1. Contractor shall field verify all measurements and quantities. 2. All Contractor questions shall be submitted in writing to the Contracting Officer.

Scope of work includes the following: 1. Contractor is to pull a 1 for 1 window replacement permit from City of Littleton. 2. Consult with Owner to determine Work Schedule. 3. Complete removal and immediate replacement of resident unit windows and sliding glass doors located within 182 resident units. 4. Contractor will provide all dumpsters and storage units required to complete the project. Location and staging schedule to be coordinated with the owner. 5. Resident unit windows will be replaced by floor starting on the 7th floor and working down. 6. Drywall repair, caulking, and paint touch-up associated with the window replacement are included. Any drywall damage not directly associated with the window replacement (i.e. water damage) is not included in this proposal. 7. Complete clean-up of any construction related debris continuously in the common areas. 8. Contractor will walk with a designated owner representative to ensure work is complete and meets expectations in each unit. 9. Ensure the integrity of new windows and ensure proper operation immediately after installation. 10. Contractor will provide full time on site supervision for the duration of the project. Scope of Resident Coordination work 1. Contractor will participate in resident coordination meetings for each floor prior to the start of construction. 2. A complete project schedule will be created by Contractor and reviewed with the residents in anticipation of upcoming work. This meeting will also cover the expectations of the residents during construction. 3. Contractor will work with the residents and the owner to ensure the residents are ready for work to begin in their unit. 4. Notices will be posted on resident doors and Contractor will check in prior to the start of work to ensure residents have taken care of fragile or valuable items, to the best of their ability. 5. Contractor will photograph the units prior to the start of any work. 6. Contractor will be responsible for removing and replacing resident window coverings. 7. Contractor will move resident's furniture and protect with tarps during the window replacement. 8. Contractor will clean-up and construction related debris in the units prior to placing furniture. Clean-up includes vacuuming of floors within the work area and cleaning visible construction related dust. 9. Contractor will reinstall resident window coverings. If new blinds are provided by the owner, Contractor will provide installation in lieu of re-installing the existing blinds. 10. Contractor will replace resident's furniture when work is complete. 11. Contractor will photograph the units following completion of any work.

Exclusions 1. Window sill replacement 2. Supply of new window coverings. 3. Repair of existing drywall and paint damage not directly related to the window replacement. 4. No work on any common area windows and storefronts. Window and Sliding Door Specifications (Basis of Design)

Contractor may submit vinyl or fiberglass windows and sliding doors which meet or exceed Energy Star ratings or the following ratings:

GLAZING: LOW E 366 W/ ARGON, or comparable U VALUE: 0.30 SHGC: 0.21 VT: 0.49 STC: 29.00

GLASS WARRANTY: 20 YEAR FINISH WARRANTY: 10 YEAR FRAME & HARDWARE WARRANTY: 10 year 3 YR INSTALLATION WARRANTY AAMA CERTIFIED INSTALLATION AAMA CERTIFIED INSTALLERS

Additional Requirements:

It is the responsibility of the General Contractor to ensure that all windows and doors meet or exceed the current and local code requirements of the City of Littleton. Window manufacturer is to provide written documentation to the Owner that the windows and doors meet all design load criteria, including height restrictions, imposed by the City of Littleton.

Window and door installation shall be performed per the written recommendations of the manufacturer, including all accessories, sealants and other items necessary to perform the work.

AAMA/WDMA/CSA 101/I.S.2/A440 - Voluntary Specifications for Aluminum, Vinyl (PVC) and Wood Windows and Glass Doors; American Architectural Manufacturers Association; 2011.

AAMA 1503 - Voluntary Test Method for Thermal Transmittance and Condensation Resistance of Windows, Doors and Glazed Wall Sections; American Architectural Manufacturers Association; 2009. For informational purposes, the following companies participated in the Mandatory Walkthrough.

Answers to questions from mandatory walkthrough.

a. Lead base paint testing is not necessary for this project. b. Asbestos testing is scheduled for 11/20/2013 and results will be provided to bidders. c. Windows should be completed at a minimum of two units per day. There is no maximum limit. d. Permits are contractor’s responsibility. e. A revised bid form will reflect additional labor to include moving furniture and blinds. f. Windows and patio sliding doors will fit in large elevator. g. There are no window grates on any of the units. h. All units are painted the same color “Navajo” Sherwin Williams paint product.

The hour and date specified for receipt of bids/proposals is extended to the following new hour and date: 4 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2013.
