Spring Musical Audition Permission Letter

Shrek, Jr. Audition Permission Letter 2015

You will not be allowed to audition unless this signed letter is returned. Students interested in being on the Stage Crew will not be required to audition, but they must return a signed permission slip.

Dear Parents: Your child has expressed an interest in being a part of the 2015 Greensburg Salem Middle School’s musical, “Shrek, Jr.” to be presented March 20th, 21st, and 22nd in the Middle School Auditorium. By signing and returning this notice, you are giving your child permission to audition for a part in the show, or you are allowing your child to be considered for a position on the stage crew. This year’s cast will consist of approximately 60-70 singers, dancers, & actors, plus a stage crew of approximately 10 students. Please be aware that if your child is cast or asked to participate as part of the technical crew, rehearsal time outside of school hours will be required. It will be necessary for rides home to be arranged. Once rehearsals begin, each participant can anticipate staying after school every day until 4:30 / 5:00 p.m., as well as a few evenings the week prior to the show. Cast selection will be based on singing, movement/dance, and acting ability, as well as the directors’ knowledge of the students’ cooperation, attitude and grades. Selection of the crew is based on willingness & desire to work, cooperation, attitude and grades. Interested students must be academically eligible passing all of their subjects at the time of the audition, as well as good citizenship. After considering all these matters, and if both you and your child are able to commit to the schedule, please sign the attached form and have your child sign so he/she can audition the week of Monday, January 12th. There will be both a singing and a reading audition. We hope to announce the cast by Friday, January 16th. Please return the form on the next page as soon as possible & feel free to direct any questions to Mrs. Callas [email protected] . Thank you for your interest & support. We look forward to a great show by our talented and enthusiastic Greensburg Salem Middle School students. ______Tentative Rehearsal Schedule For Your Planning (Subject to change at any time).
