Premium summer tire from Continental sees off 13 competitors Editorial team: "Good grip on wet and dry roads coupled with easy handling" Tire size 205/55 R 16 is standard for compact to mid-size class
Hanover, March 9, 2015. The editorial team of the Finnish trade magazine "Tekniikan Maailma" ("Technical World" in English) named the ContiPremiumContact 5 the test winner of its latest summer tire test. A total of 14 tire models were tested on wet and dry surfaces in driving tests conducted by experts at the "Test World" test center in Ivalo, Finland. The Finns gave the tire from the Continental Development department in Hanover a positive verdict in their conclusion: "Good grip in the wet, good grip on dry roads, easy handling in all driving situations." Tires from European, American, and Asian manufacturers were tested and the critical experts had selected tires from the premium to the budget segment. This demonstrated once again that premium brands offer the highest safety standards as they defeated the very low-cost Asian models, which placed last in the evaluation.
Tires in size 205/55 R 16 are suitable for a large number of vehicles from the compact to mid-size class. Accordingly, the test experts used a VW Golf VII as the test vehicle. The test winner from Continental is the Hanover-based company's high-volume summer tire model, which is manufactured in a total of 75 sizes for rims of between 14 and 17 inches and is approved for speeds of up to 300 km/h.
