CBC Community Pancake Breakfast Benefiting Organization Application

The CBC Community Pancake Breakfast is an annual event organized in partnership with CBC Radio and the Newfoundland & Labrador Housing & Homelessness Network, along with the planning committee consisting of the benefiting organizations and other community members. The primary goal of the Pancake Breakfast is to raise awareness around housing and homelessness issues with a secondary goal of raising funds for the partnering organizations.

If you are interested in applying to become a benefiting organization, please review the information below, complete the attached application and submit to Melissa Keough, NLHHN Public Awareness & Special Projects Coordinator, [email protected]. The deadline for submissions is 4:00PM on September 27, 2013.

Criteria for Benefiting Organizations - Organizations must be a community-based, registered charity with a focus on housing and homelessness in the northeast Avalon region - Funding provided through these events must be designated in advance to a specific program, project or resource that benefits individuals that are homeless or those at risk of homelessness - Organizations must be willing to commit to a three (3) year term if they are selected as a beneficiary

Organization Selection Criteria - Organizations must have the capacity to carry out the work of the committee - A strong track record in participating in task-oriented committees - The Identified project is relevant to the current needs of the community but has limited access to resources to support it - Availability to directly support the Pancake Breakfast events and recruit additional volunteers

Approval Terms - Highlighted in the Memorandum of Understanding between the Network and organization includes the following responsibilities: - Attend all committee meetings or have a delegate represent the organization - Ensure that all assigned tasks from previous meetings are completed prior to next committee meeting - Provide volunteers to complete assigned tasks during the events - A member of your organization will take a coordinator’s role at an agreed upon location throughout the planning of the event and on the day of - Provide a summary of how the funds were spent for the past year and an outline for how the funding will be spent for the upcoming year.
