JOB INFORMATION

JOB TITLE Project Worker 37 hours per week – occasional WORKING HOURS evening and weekend work may be required

POSITION IN THE ORGANISATION

Management Team/Project REPORTS TO Leads OFFICE BASE Llandrindod Wells

OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB

To carry out sustainable energy and sustainable development project work at a range of levels covering the broad subject areas of affordable warmth, energy efficiency, renewable energy and sustainable transport

To participate, at a support level, to a number of projects – particularly in respect of communications, dissemination and practical/administrative matters.

To deal with customer and partner enquires – particularly those from the large number of community sector clients with whom Severn Wye interacts

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

. Supporting colleagues in carrying out sustainable energy project work on a range of projects in the field of affordable warmth, energy efficiency and renewable energy

. Assisting with the management/coordination of projects as required, including liaising with funders and partners, planning and implementing project activities, keeping records and providing reports (verbally and in writing) to relevant stakeholders

. Problem solving and providing information and support for customers via the phone, email and face to face at events.

. Planning and organising promotional events aimed at a wide range of organisations

. Organising and facilitation of meetings for a wide range of organisations, in

. Research and keep up to date with relevant issues informing others as re quired

. Preparing promotional or information materials, updating the web site and the use of social media as a communications tool.

. Supporting project managers with the planning and management of their calendar of events, project training, activities and meetings.

. Supporting other SWEA projects and staff as required

. Developing knowledge and understanding of sustainable energy issues and utilisation of this to promote the opportunities via projects and programmes to be developed

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

Essential

. Experience of supporting complex programmes of work/projects . Experience of procurement and the organisation of meetings and events . A willingness to understand and deal effectively with enquiries from clients, the public and partners . Excellent verbal and written communication skills . Computer literate: Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail, internet, database. . Numerate and literate

Desirable

. A general understanding of sustainable energy technologies . A general understanding of behaviour change in energy and/or environmental fields . A general knowledge and experience of housing, health and social care services and practice . Some understanding of energy infrastructure in UK . Experience of working in, or in support of, local or other statutory authorities . The ability to communicate effectively in Welsh . Driving licence and own car to use . A general understanding of current political issues and sustainable development initiatives in Wales.

Qualifications Required: . A minimum of 5 GCSE’s at grade C or above – including Math’s and English and an appropriate post-school qualification in a relevant subject.
