My Interests

I love traveling and will pack my bags when I have time available. Last Easter I traveled by bicycle and train through Europe over four weeks covering 1822 kilometers. I did this for my local NSPCC charity and raised £ 900.00. I also orgainised a fete for my brothers scout group during 2002 which helped them raise the £ 12,000.00 needed for a new roof on the scout hut. Availability: I finish my course on 17th June 2004 and will be available for work on or after 01st August 2004.

Academic Achievements

Electrical Engineering, Cardiff University, 2004 I am currently studying a three year electrical engineering course which I have for the last 2 years attained exceptional end of year exam grades. We have completed several large projects including the building of a working robot which could perform over eighteen separate functions. My role within the building of this project was to design and manufacture the electrical circuit boards.

Key Achievements

· At school I was head of year for three years running and my tutor in my final year recommended me for a place at Cardiff University. Whilst I have been at Cardiff I am editor of the university echo and are responsible in addition to other things for managing the monthly and annual budgets. I have successfully carried this out over a three year period and have been complimented by the Dean for the money I have managed to save the student union. During the summer of 2002 I worked for six weeks as an administration assistant at Marks and Spencer Financial Services in Cardiff which I enjoyed very much. Over the summer of 2003 I worked for six weeks at Motorola phones in there technical department checking circuit boards for faults again another role I enjoyed short term.

Company: Date: Role: McDonalds 2004 - Working as a fast food sales representative. My role Restaurants PLC Present included dealing face to face with over 150 customers an hour, taking orders, cooking and cleaning. I was head of the team for the last three months of my employment.

Motorola PLC 2003 - 2003 June 2003 - September 2003. I worked within a team of 40 other people checking circuit boards for faults. I enjoyed the experience of working with my colleagues and struck up a very good working relationship with them. During my time spent carrying out this role I checked over 1800 boards and found faults in approximately 90. This job was very high pressure and required a good eye for detail as the components I was checking were vital parts of each end product. My manager complimented me by offering me a full time job once I had finished my course!

Marks and 2002 - 2002 June 2002 to September 2002. During this period I Spencer PLC worked as an administration assistant in the finance department. My main job was to check applications for finance agreements sent in by customers requiring a M & S credit card. There were four of us in the team and we checked over 500 applications a day. I made a recommendation to my senior manager which would cut down on the time spent checking the applications and this was implemented immediately. As a reward for this I was given a weekend short break in London by the company as it saved them several thousand pounds. I enjoyed working within a team and made several new friends here. Whist in this role I carried out a St John's ambulance course and was given the job of First Aid representative.
