Monday, December 12, 2016 1) ROLL CALL
Present: Kent Renn, Bob Blumerich, Scott Hill, Mike Tomasek, Chris Ruemenapp, Rick Ruemenapp, Alan Thueme, Linea Burch, Kristy Hardy, Tim Warchuck, Donna Wojtysiak, Bob Clogg, Bernie Dudek.
Excused: Rob Usakowski, Al Leone, Cindy Leone, Kim Hetzel, Jeff Schelske.
Absent: Dan McCue,
Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m.
2) AGENDA
M. Tomasek requested to add to the agenda membership in IAFE and Sarnia Chamber of Commerce. A motion was made by T. Warchuck, support by K. Renn to approve the agenda with the addition.
Motion carried.
3) SECRETARY’S REPORT
No report.
4) TREASURER’S REPORT
One outstanding livestock bill for $450.00 remaining from the 2016 sale. A motion was made by A. Thueme, supported by S. Hill to approve the treasurer’s report as submitted.
Motion carried.
Bills submitted for renewal for ShoWorks for $550.00 and Bavarian Bleachers contract for 5 year contract, same amount for each year, $10,768.00 for two large sets of bleachers, older one from Lapeer and rental of two small units. Delivery TBD based on fuel prices. Must put a deposit of half the total of $5,384. A motion was made by T. Warchuck, supported by A. Thueme to approve the contracts and payment of bills. 5) HEARING OF PUBLIC
None.
6) FAIR OFFICE REPORTS
L. Burch will contact the horse trams and horse judges have been confirmed. L. Burch will send them W-9’s. April 1st deadline for entertainment brochure. Steve Achatz would like a fold in the entertainment brochure for his menu and would like a price on that.
7) MSU EXTENSION
Beef Blast coming up. L. Warchuck is working on the Ag tent again this year.
8) COMMITTEE REPORTS
a) AWARDS COMMITTEE
Need to get a ribbon count for convention. No bids for trophies to date. Deadline is January 1st. A bid sheet needs to be sent to Doodling Outback and Foresports.
b) CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT
No report.
c) ENTERTAINMENT
No report.
d) CRATER ENTERTAINMENT

f) LIVESTOCK COMMITTEE
Going to wait until after convention to address length of time exhibitors will be prohibited from exhibiting livestock at another event. Will be setting up a meeting for emergency management for animals.
g) PARKS AND RECREATION
No report.
h) LEASE
Rob Usakowski will be setting up a meeting with Parks and Recreation.
i) PERSONNEL
A motion was made by C. Ruemenapp, supported by A. Thueme to give L. Burch a bonus of $1,000 with taxes taken out of that amount.

j) PUBLICITY
Need to get a banner with the fair dates of July 17-22, 2017 for the banner at B. Blumerich’s farm, 2 X 10 banner and M. Tomasek will order that when there’s a deal online.

9) OLD BUSINESS St. Clair County Agricultural Society 2016

b) FAIR BOOK CHANGES DUE JANUARY 1
10) NEW BUSINESS
a) MEMBERSHIPS
IAFE membership was $150, last year it was free. A motion was made by T. Warchuck, supported by S. Hill to pay for a membership.
Motion carried.
Sarnia Chamber of Commerce membership of $363.55. No one knows if Kim did anything
with them or any value with that. Tabled until January.
b) CHAMBER BREAKFAST AND COMMISSIONER TOUR
Would like to put together a small committee to work on Blue Water Chamber and Commissioner After 5:00 for the fair. Would like to get it better advertised for the Chamber so we have more participation and invite Commissioners at the same time.
c) PETTING FARM
Need to verify with D. Preston and J. Rabine if they plan to do the petting farm in 2017.
