Jamie S Tremendous Relief

Amelia’s Remarkable Recovery

“AChapter 10

melia” Jamie whispered softly as a tear trickled down his cold cheek. He had felt enormous desperation, but now she was awake he felt incredible relief and deep down inside he knew he could never leave his sister in any danger. “You’re safe; you’re in the graveyard with me”.

He looked around to see where his ancestor was, but she had disappeared. He then noticed the Spirits stalking towards them, a chill went down his spine knotting his stomach. Jamie was so confused he didn’t know what to do. When he looked back at Amelia she was fully awake, but was as pale as a sheet. She was in shock and felt shivery, she just wanted things to go back to normal and be in front of a fire with hot chocolate in her cold hands.

Jamie pulled himself together, he had to. He jumped up to help his sister stand; she staggered and nearly fell over, but Jamie caught her. He put his arm around her and his comfort and strength snapped her out of her daze. Together they scrambled away, but it only took the Spirits a minute or two to catch up, and soon they were close enough to almost grab Amelia’s long hair. Amelia darted forward and started running faster. Jamie realised what was happening and sped up. They were side by side and were soon sprinting.

Amelia remembered about the cold roofless church she found herself sitting in when she had lost Jamie and how lonely and helpless she had felt. It then dawned on her how useless and meaningless the fighting and bickering was

By Caroline Charnley between herself and Jamie. She realised how much her brother meant to her and she understood that the relationship between them had changed forever.

Amelia grabbed hold of her brother as if she would never let go and told him to follow her. She turned a sharp left, but suddenly the Spirits were in front of them, the siblings looked at each other with fear in their eyes. They then both heard a voice in there heads, the same voice they had heard when they were in the forest, “Turn around and go straight ahead” it said calmly, Jamie realised it was the voice of the ancestor and he shouted to Amelia that it was OK and they should do as it said. In one flash they had turned around and had started running.
