Summer Information Guide Dear Parents:

We are anxiously awaiting your child’s arrival at Camp Sunbeam this summer. We have a fun summer planned and are happy that your child will be joining us. We prepared this packet to help answer some questions you may have about our summer camp. When is drop off? What should my child wear to camp? Will my child have a chance for outdoor play? Should I send lunch with my child? We hope that we answer all of your questions in this packet. If not, you can contact either one of us at the email addresses below with additional questions you may have about Camp Sunbeam. We look forward to a fun summer!

Blessings,

First Day: On the first day of camp we will have a registration table set up in the preschool rotunda. We will let you know at that time the class that your child will be assigned to for the week. If you have not turned in all your paperwork, you can turn it in at this time.

Drop off: Please walk your child in the first day. After the first day, we prefer you to participate in carpool, but can walk them in. Carpool starts at 9 am.

Pick up: You can either participate in carpool or pick your child up in their classroom. Afternoon carpool will begin at 12:50 pm.

Carpool: The carpool line will form beginning at the cone labeled 1 in the area in front of the preschool. The next car should pull up to next large cone. Please do not get out of your car during carpool (either in the morning or afternoon). Teachers will come out and get your child out of the car in the morning and bring them to their classrooms. In the afternoon, teachers will bring your children out to the car. By law, we are not allowed to buckle children into the car. Please pull up to the circle to buckle your child in.

What to bring each day:  A bag (either your school bag or one from home) labeled with your child’s first and last name.  A snack (children ages 2 and up do not need to bring a drink with snack). Children will drink water in cups.  Lunch: Please bring a healthy lunch and drink for your child.  Diapers or Pull ups (if needed)  A change of clothes (make sure to label!)  An old large adult size t-shirt (to be used as an art smock) PLEASE LABEL EVERYTHING!

What should my child wear?  Tennis shoes and comfortable play clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. Weather permitting; children will have outdoor playtime every day! They will also be creating fun art projects that can be messy at times! Please bring an old adult size t-shirt if you prefer to use as a smock during messier art projects.  Be sure to send your child with sunscreen on them each day. They will be going outside every day (weather permitting)

What will my child do at camp? Each day at camp, children will participate in art, games, music, storytelling and outdoor playtime. Activities will revolve around the theme of the camp week your child will be attending. The last day of each camp, children will participate in water play and enjoy popsicles!

What do I do if a nanny, babysitter or friend will pick up my child? Please send a written note of any carpool changes. Camp Sunbeam staff will check the license of the person who is picking up the child.

What type of activities will my child participate in at camp? Children will participate in daily art projects, creative movement and music activities, fun free play and outside nature walks and playground time. Expect your child to be tired after a day at Camp Sunbeam.

What number do I call if I need to talk with someone at Camp Sunbeam? You can reach Paige Keller or Laura Ann Kirkpatrick in the preschool office at 404-495-8457.
