Cover Sheet for Stage Four of an academic paper or non- expository writing, individual work

Course: ## LASTNAME, First name Date submitted:

Tell me about your final submission in comparison to your complete draft (*everyone should answer at least #1 & #2):

1. Is this paper basically the same except for rewriting to smooth it out and changes that give it a consistent style (just “yes” or “no”, please)?

Yes No (erase one)

2. Does this paper have major new ideas? If so, where? (Just say very briefly what and where)

Yes No (erase one) If “yes” some brief details. Less than 50 words, and please direct the reader to the appropriate page number or such in the paper.

3. Has the presentation of the ideas undergone a lot of shifting around or major change in emphasis? If so, tell me a little about that.

4. Does this paper have new citations? If so, what are they? (author & title and, if it is not obvious what it is, a sentence or so about it)

5. Other comments?

6. Write here questions that you would like me to answer about your paper. (Example: “I dumped the opening paragraph about kabuki theater, deciding it wasn’t that important to my thesis. I’m curious if you think this was a good move….”) Final submissions are generally not commented on since most comments should have already been shared at Stage Three. However, sometimes papers or projects undergo enough change, or the student presents a new idea, and is interested in whether that was useful or not. Where possible I would like to be able to response to these questions. If none are written below, I will assume that the paper need not be commented on.

7. Does the following sentence pertain to you? “I don’t have any specific questions but I really would like some feedback.” If so, write “yes” below and, time permitting, I will try to do so over the first few weeks after the term is complete.
