Nametags

People wear nametags to introduce themselves to others in an effort to communicate who they are. To allow your teacher(s) and classmates to get to know the “real you” better, design a personal nametag which symbolically expresses/represents who you are. Prepare to orally present your nametag to the class. Include a brief introduction, body, and conclusion to your presentation. Present your nametag on ______.

Parameters to Follow: 1. Topic: Who am I? 2. Materials: sturdy backing decorated with paper, fabric, yarn, stickers, artwork, objects, pictures, wrappers, etc. (NO perishable food) 3. Size: Approx. 8 x 11 4. Dimensions: flat or 3D 5. Contents: illustrations, designs, symbols, objects, shelfie*, etc. which express who you are.

* Shelfie – A “shelfie” is a “selfie” that includes a bookshelf/book. Take a picture of yourself with a book that has significance to you (favorite children’s book, favorite current book, a book you’ve read multiple times, etc.) or your bookshelf. The setting of your shelfie should also have meaning. Print the picture and be sure it’s on your nametag.

Brainstorm below and on the back:

For your shelfie: Significant setting and book/bookshelf?

Qualities (How would you or others describe you?)

Talents (What are your special abilities?)

Thoughts (What do you ponder?)

Feelings (How do you feel about life, school, friends, family, religion, etc.)

Values (What do you strongly believe in?)

Skills (Your strengths as related to school or sports.)

Achievements (In school, sports, clubs, etc.)

Aspirations/Goals (What do you wish to achieve in the future?)
