Special Guests  Taylor Rodger and Andrew Walsh from Sigma Nu are asking for sororities to donate bottle cans to fundraise for their new member class. They would drop them off this Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 9 AM and would be picking them up on November 7, 2014 at 1 PM. Money would be used towards chapter items and the rest would be donated. Officer Reports  President o Elections -Letters of intent for and 2 letters of recommendation for VPM will be due November 6th. -Slate will be on November 13th at 7PM - Need one delegate from each chapter present. -Elections will be December 4th - If you cannot attend elections but still wish to run, you can have your letter read by a member of Executive Council.  Executive Vice President o Glass Dates -Glass 1: Sunday, November 2 from 12PM – 2PM in RM 360 - Glass 2: Sunday, November 9 from 12 PM – 2 PM in RM 360 -Glass Recertification: Wednesday, November 5 at 7 PM at the Wellness Center

-Please make sure your chapter members are filling out the RSVP form to attend GLASS. There is not a deadline when they have to have the RSVP in by, however it helps Kathy Walz to be prepared for the session and we would really appreciate it.

If 375 people raise $40 we can easily obtain our goal. The top chapter will earn $100 into their x-fund account, the top three chapters will receive a 100 points toward Greek Week, and individuals who raise the $40 will get into the dance for free. o Service Challenge –Provost Schatatzel has issued the challenge to all of Greek life to perform 365 full days’ worth of service, which equals 8, 760 hours’ worth of service this year. Averaged out that’s about 17 hours per member. Each chapter will be responsible for a different percentage of hours depending on chapter size. Please log all service into the Google form. Service Challenge Hours: AGD- 420 DZ- 742 SDT- 728 SNP-168 SSS-798 SK-742 AXiD- 784 AST- 616 o Vision Service Date –Friday, November 7th Community Development. Working with Giving Garden by clearing pots and preparing them for winter. If you want to carpool meet at the circle drive at 9 AM the service event from 10AM- 12 PM. o Giving Tuesday -Giving Tuesday was created to encourage philanthropy and giving during the holiday season. This is the second year that EMU is participating in it. On December 2nd from midnight to midnight students, faculty, and Alumni will be raising or giving money to the cause, which in turn will be given back through departments, scholarships, building upgrades, etc. Each chapter will decide where they want the money to go to. We will be having a penny war at the end of November, and the chapter that raises the most money through that gets to decide where ALL the money goes. You can also earn points toward Greek Week.

 Vice President of Internal Affairs  Chapter of the Month – Alpha Sigma Tau -Were founded on November 4th, 1899 on Eastern Michigan’s Campus making them the Alpha chapter. - They have 8 founders. Their names are Harriet Marx, Adriance Rice, May Gephart, Mayene Tracy, Mable Chase, Eva O’Keefe, Helene Rice. Ruth Dutcher. -Their sorority colors are emerald and gold. - The flower is a yellow rose. - The anchor is their mascot. - Graciousness, Respect, Intellect, Connections and Excellence are their organization’s values. -Their organization’s philanthropy is Pine Mountain Settlement School and their national community service is Habitat for Humanity. - Some big events that they hold is Annual Grilled Cheese Night.

 Dues –Are due today so if you have not got those payments get them in ASAP.  Website Audits - Will begin the process of auditing your chapter’s websites this upcoming week. If there is anything your chapter wishes to update please have it done by this week as I will be starting audits on Monday, October 27, 2014.

New Business  Recruitment Proposal Dates - A motion to propose recruitment dates for the 2015 school year starting from Thursday September 17th and ending on Sunday September 20th with philanthropy and sisterhood being on September 18th. - A motion to propose recruitment dates for 2015 school year starting from Wednesday, September 16th to Sunday, September 20th.  Resolutions -Panhellenic motions to resolve that The College Panhellenic Council at Eastern Michigan University believes that chapter executive boards should hold GPA greater than that of the all sorority GPA requirement.

- Panhellenic motions to resolve that The College Panhellenic Council at Eastern Michigan University discourages hosting or participating in social events on weeknights and finals week. - Panhellenic motions to resolve that The College Panhellenic Council at Eastern Michigan University encourages new members to uphold a GPA of 2.5 or greater.

Announcements  Athletic Marketing department on campus is putting on the event Rock the Rec on October 28 from 7- 8:30 which is a free event. Will have activities and free foods. This event will showcase EMU’s men and women basketball team. Highest attended Greek/ Sudent Organization and Resident Hall receives a free pizza party at a home basketball game. Mr. Greek pageant is November 16 at 7 PM in the student center ballroom.  Sigma Delta Tau is selling scentsy to benefit their philanthropy, Preventing Child Abuse America (PCAA). Sigma Delta Tau will be selling it until the 1st and 13 % of all sales go to PCAA. The link to purchase is amandaratley.scentsy.us. If you are purchasing when you check out, the dropbox for the party says “Sigma Delta Tau PCAA.”  Sigma Delta Tau is selling OPI nail polish in honor of domestic violence awareness month. The nail polish, girls achieve grapeness, benefits Jewish women international. It develops programs to protect girls/ women’s right and provides safe homes. The cost per bottle is $10 and can be purchased at our lobby tables on Tuesday (10/28) from 3- 5 PM, Wednesday (10/29) from 11-3 or at anytime via and Sig Delt.  Thank you for everyone who came out to the Women’s Resource Center’s True Life Event.  Alpha Gamma Delta is having their semi- annual Greek Sale this Sunday, October 26, 2014. We will be in the Kiva room of the student center from 12- 4 PM. There will be letters that can be customized as well as already made letters and various spirit items for all the Greek organizations. If you have any questions contact any Alpha Gam.  Alpha Gamma Delta is hosting a Taco Night on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 from 5- 9 PM. There will be walking tacos! $2 for 1 and $5 for 3.
