ADMINISTRATION - BOARD of DIRECTOR MEETING

CALLED to ORDER by President Kathy Bayer (7:45 A.M.) at the IHOP Rest. ATTENDENCE: Treasurer Ed Verburg, Secretary George Mitcham, Pres.-Elect Alan Tonelson, V.P. Bob Mola, Past-President Jack Hamilton. Directors: Jim Allison, Dick Burnett, Dave Betts. Absent: Dave Bertagnoli A quorum was present. Guests: Gunther Marx, Bill Corr, Brian Le, Linda Vaught. MINUTES of March 17, 2015: Alan Tonelson moved the minutes be accepted as presented. Bob Mola seconded the motion, and the motion carried. TREASURER’S REPORT: Ed Verburg reported that as of the end of March the Administration account had a balance of $2,533.16. He also gave a quarterly financial report. Bob Mola moved, and Jim Allison seconded that the treasurer’s report be accepted, and the motion carried. REPORTS:  Jim Allison and George Mitcham reported that the Nomination Committee has nominated the following officers and directors for the 2015-16 fiscal year: President Bob Mola President Elect Jim Allison Vice President Gerald Cody Secretary Bill Corr Treasurer Ed Verburg Past President Kathy Bayer Director Brian Le (term expires 9/30/17) Director Linda Vaught (term expires 9/30/17) Director Doug Meriwether (term expires 9/30/16) Director Alan Tonelson (term expires 9/30/16) The election of 2015-16 Officers & Directors will be at the May 12, 2015 general membership meeting. NOTE: On May 12, 2105, during the General Membership Meeting, Dave Betts moved that the above slate of Officers/Directors be elected via acclamation, and Dick Burnett seconded the motion. Motion carried.  Bill Corr gave a brief update on the club’s website and encouraged members to check it out.  George Mitcham reported that Honorary club member Walter Schaefer passed away on April 9, 2015, and club member, Gunther Marx, will be moving to Chicago in May. OLD BUSINESS:  None. NEW BUSINESS:  Jim Allison moved that the board recommend to the general membership that the position of Vice President as stated in the club’s bylaws be eliminated. Dick Burnett seconded the motion, and the motion failed. NOTE: At the April 28, 2015, General Membership Meeting, Jim Allison moved that the position of Vice President as stated in the club’s bylaws be eliminated. Jane Sanders seconded the motion. Motioned failed.

1  Ed Verburg proposed that the club consider a special membership category to be known as “Family Member”. This member would pay an annual fee of $100.00 or $111 for new members. The breakdown of fee distribution would be: SW District $30 ($35 in 2015- 16), New Member Fee $15, KI $42, Magazine $8, Insurance D & O $4, Insurance – Gen. Liability $12. The criteria of this new category of membership would include: 1) spouse, son or daughter of current member, 2) a new member who desires to be involved and will participate in club projects and remain in good standing. This proposal was deferred to the next board meeting.

ADJOURNMENT: At 8:15 A.M., Dick Burnett moved that the meeting be adjourned. Dave Betts seconded and the motion carried. The next Board Meeting will be May 19, 2015 at IHOP.

SERVICE & FOUNDATION - BOARD of DIRECTORS

CALLED to ORDER by President Kathy Bayer at 8:16 A.M., at the I.H.O.P. ATTENDENCE: Treasurer Ed Verburg, Secretary George Mitcham, Pres.-Elect Alan Tonelson, V.P. Bob Mola. Directors: Jim Allison, Dick Burnett. Absent: Dave Bertagnoli, Dave Betts, Jack Hamilton A quorum was present. Guests: Gunther Marx, Bill Corr, Brian Le, Linda Vaught. MINUTES of March 17, 2015: Ed Verburg moved the minutes be approved. Jack Hamilton seconded, and the motion carried. TREASURER’S REPORT: Ed Verburg reported that as of the end of March the Service account had a balance of $8,045.17, and the Foundation account had a balance of $66,883.07. He reported that the actual cost of the 2015 RELAYS was $7,425 (budgeted $7,124), and this compares to $7,904 expended on the 2014 RELAYS. Bob Mola moved the treasurer’s reports be accepted. Dick Burnett seconded the motion, and the motion carried. REPORTS: o Dick Burnett reported that the club members have been invited to participate in the annual Tucson Big Brothers & Big Sisters celebration to be held on May 9th 9:00 AM at Reed Park (Ramada #7). We will be responsible for two fun events: face painting and water balloon toss. o Brian Le reported that the Bowling Blast with BIGS is scheduled for Saturday, August 22, 2015 (11:00 AM to 1:00 PM) at Golden Lanes. o Dick Burnett has volunteered to be the 2016 RELAYS Director subject to John Radspinner and Dave Bretagnoli agreeing to handle to scoring. OLD BUSINESS:  None NEW BUSINESS:  None ADJOURNMENT: At 8:30 A.M., Bob Mola moved that the meeting be adjourned, Jim Allison seconded and the motion carried. The next Club Board Meeting will be May 19, 2015 at the IHOP.
