Environmental Entrepreneur and Ohio State Faculty Member to Lead Keep Franklin County Beautiful

Columbus, OH. August 1. Keep Franklin County Beautiful announces its new Executive Director. Dr. Neil Drobny is a veteran of the environmental industry. He has worked at Battelle, founded and operated a mid-sized environmental consulting firm, and has served as a consultant to a number of startup companies. Additionally, Dr. Drobny is a member of the adjunct faculty at the OSU Fisher College of Business where he teaches an MBA elective course on sustainable business practices. He is also a member of Columbus Mayor Coleman’s Green Team.

Drobny plans for KFCB to retain its interest in litter control but wants to expand the organization's activities into other aspects of environmental sustainability, including renewable energy and recycling. "Franklin County and Central Ohio must become aggressive in the pursuit of sustainability to assure that the region competes well in attracting and retaining the best and brightest of people and organizations. How effectively this is accomplished will determine the region's success in creating a rich culture and prosperous economy in the 21st century. Other regions and communities around the country are pursuing similar initiatives, and Central Ohio needs to keep pace and show leadership to succeed. KFCB can be the fuel that powers our community's engine."

Chairman of the KFCB Board, Albert Wright, welcomes Drobny. "We are fortunate to have Neil leading the transformation of our organization at this critical juncture and at a time when our objectives are so well aligned with needs in Franklin County."

Keep Franklin County Beautiful (KFCB), an organization dedicated to promoting environmentally sustainable business and living practices is an affiliate of Keep American Beautiful. It partners with numerous local organizations and businesses to carry out its mission.
