09950D - WALLCOVERINGS

A. Generally wallcoverings are not recommended by the University because they are easily damaged, difficult to repair and are easy targets for vandals.

1. Vinyl or paper wall covering should not be used in public or dormitory areas.

B. Materials must conform with ASTM E-84 or NFiPA255 requirements of Article 14 of Ohio Basic Building Code. Research code carefully to determine class of fire and smoke resistance required for the specific application.

C. Vinyl wall covering must satisfactorily pass class A physical requirements for type II wall covering as listed in G.S.A. CCC-W-408A and CFFA Quality Standards for vinyl coated fabric wall covering.

D. EXTRA MATERIAL: Submit extra wallcovering materials to Owner. Extra material shall be in full rolls and equal to approximately 5 percent of the material used on the project.
