Over 29 years of experience working in the mental health field providing quality service in the forms of program management, clinical supervision, training, intake and assessment, individual therapy, family therapy, couples therapy, group facilitation, consultation, outreach, case management and program development.

 Currently responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Fred Finch Youth Center Transitions Program, an outpatient, Medi-Cal funded program that provides mental health services to adolescents and young adults, ages 15-21, (many current and former foster youth) who are transitioning into adulthood. Responsibilities include facilitating staff meetings, conducting clinical screening for eligibility, generating multiple administrative reports, attending to staff questions and issues, approving and co-signing clinical documentation, and other duties.

 Currently provides clinical supervision for Marriage and Family Therapy Interns and Trainees and Social Work Associates who facilitate individual, family, and couples therapy, and case management services for persons experiencing mental health diagnoses and various problems and that impede their daily functioning and interactions with others. Provides individual and group supervision, consultation and training.

 Currently facilitates individual, couples and family therapy, and case management services for children, teens and young adults who are experiencing a wide range of mental health challenges, including, but not limited to, depressive disorders, Panic Disorder (with Agoraphobia), PTSD, other anxiety disorders, mood disorders, ADHD, co-occurring disorders, and psychotic disorders.

 Currently assists children, adolescents and adults to recover from trauma using Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). In process of obtaining EMDR certification through EMDRIA (EMDR International Association).

 Currently provides training for agency staff, including support services staff, peer mentors, case managers, unlicensed and licensed clinicians. Trainings have included New Hire Orientation (topics: Cultural Humility, Strengths-based services, Trauma-Informed Care, Co- Occurring Awareness and Family-driven services), Cultural Mindfulness trainings: What's in Your Cultural Backpack? and Racial Micro-aggressions, Self-Care, Child Abuse Reporting, Documentation, Risk Assessment, Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths Assessment (CANS) and Debriefing following traumatic events.

 Currently co-chairs the Cultural Connections Committee at Fred Finch Youth Center, including coordinating and recommending cultural competency trainings for various agency programs. Reviews company policies, procedures and practices to promote cultural mindfulness and inclusiveness in every aspect of the agency.

 Facilitated parenting groups to assist parents in addressing the needs of their school-aged children using the STEP Parenting program.

 Provided consultation and intake information to consumers of mental health services, family members, and service providers, addressing mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, suicide prevention, non-violent crisis intervention and dual diagnosis.

 Conducted staff training in a variety of areas, such as group facilitation, stress management, self-care, prevention of burn-out, music therapy, Narrative therapy, cultural competence, documentation, team-building, boundaries, effective communication and confidentiality.

 Facilitated prevention groups for at-risk youth to address various topics affecting their young lives, including substance abuse, depression, STDs, cultural diversity, sexual assault, and domestic violence.

 Co-created and facilitated a Summer Day Camp for high risk youth ages 5 to 12 that utilized creative expression, computer training, cultural sensitivity exercises and environmental projects to highlight the clients’ strengths and improve their ability to relate to others. Supervised 12 Youth Counselors who were responsible for helping to facilitate activities for the children of the Summer Day Camp.
