This is the official publication of the Triangle Shetland Sheepdog Club of NC, and is published at least quarterly in the interests of the club members. Articles of interest to sheltie owners will be accepted for publication; views expressed in the articles are not necessarily those of the club members or the club itself.

Membership information: Annual dues for an individual are $10.00, and $15.00 for family membership. Dues are payable to the Membership Chairman when submitting an application or in December for the following year.

Meetings: Meetings are held on the second Thursday at 7:00 PM, usually in the homes of members. Meeting locations, dates, and directions are published in the newsletter for your convenience.

Advertising is accepted for the publication, at a rate of $5.00 per page. Ads can be sent to the Editor with the appropriate fees. Upcoming Meetings:

Meeting Minutes:

September 13, 2001

President called to order at 7:30 p.m.

Secretary’s report-calendars have been received. The Club has paid for them so all checks should be made to the Club. We have received from the AKC a list of the changes to the Herding regulations. Secretary will go through them and make recommendations.

Treasurer’s report-we have a balance of $3,357.02. The insurance company has recommended that at a cost of an extra $41 per year we increase our coverage. The Club will keep the coverage that we have. We will send to ASSA $50 to the general fund for trophies.

Membership-Two memberships were read for the first time. Shauna & Chuck Dasnoit from Knightdale and Rachel Meads from Siler City.

Old Business:

Specialty-Mebane will do the cleanup and we will be hiring a caterer for the day. Coffee will be available for the workers. The photographer will be charging $50 for both days and we will pay for her hotel room. The Tri-County Vet practice has been notified. We need to be careful where we set up the vendors and raffle table so they do not create traffic problems. The raffle table products were discussed. All judges have been confirmed and contracts have been signed. A dinner at a restaurant on Saturday evening was suggested. MB-F will be contacted for judge’s books and ribbons.

New Business:

Club Banner-Dianne has suggested that we need a new banner. She will price it.

Rerun Announcements

Raffle. Kristy Pedersen and Barbara Nelsen are collecting all donations for the club’s raffle table at our November Specialty. Kristy says you can get donations to her any time between now and the Specialty or even the day of the Specialty.

More from Kristy. We have a VWD clinic booked for November 10 through December 15. The cost is $99. Contact Kristy if you’re interested in more information.
