Access user’s data from the outside.

Windows 7/Vista/XP

1. If users laptop has any installed application for SFTP (secure FTP), go to step 2.

Download and install freeware WinSCP

http://winscp.net/eng/download.php

2. Start WinSCP, and enter

Enter SSRL\b_yourusername and password.

Click to Login. All your txm data directories are under symbolic link txmdata.

All your data directories (SPEC Beam Lines) are under symbolic link data.

Your data directories from 2011-2012 years run are under symbolic link archive.

When copy all data, go to Session -> Disconnect to close an active session on specftp. For MAC

Download and install freeware Cyberduck from http://cyberduck.ch/ or from http://download.cnet.com/Cyberduck/3000-2160_4-10246246.html

After installation 1. Double-click the Cyberduck icon. When Cyberduck opens, at the upper left, click Open Connection..., or from the File menu, select Open Connection....

2. From the pull-down menu at the top of the sheet that appears, select SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol).

3. In the "Server:" field, type the address of the remote host to which you wish to connect

specftp.slac.stanford.edu

4. In the "Login:" and "Password:" fields, type your username and passphrase for the remote computer. Your username is SSRL\b_username (e.g. SSRL\b_txmuser).

5. Click Connect to open the SFTP connection.

Note: The first time you connect to a host, Cyberduck will display a warning such as "Unknown host key for specftp.slac.stanford.edu." Click Allow to continue.

6. A window will open displaying the list of files on the remote host. To upload files or folders, drag them from Finder windows into the Cyberduck window. To download files or folders, drag them from Cyberduck into the Finder. For MAC/Linux

SFTP SFTP is an interactive file transfer program, similar to ftp, which performs all operations over an encrypted ssh transport. Connecting To connect using sftp type at the terminal: sftp username@host_server Username is your network account username and host_server is the remote server to which you're connecting.
