Business House Tennis

Team Format: 2 Men and 2 Ladies Competition Format: 4 X Half hour sessions (2 mixed and 1 ladies’ and 1 men’s) Date: Competition starts early October and runs til late March Time: Games start 6pm sharp Registration: $50 per team plus $10 per Waihopai Member and $20 for non Waihopai members (The full fee for the team is payable on registration) Other Costs: $5.00 per person per day for balls and prizes

Competition Rules:

 All Games start at 6pm with the blow of a whistle or horn and will end with the blow of the whistle/horn after approximately 30 minutes. This will be controlled by the duty person.  If a game is unfinished on the blow of the whistle the players can complete that particular game – bearing in mind that it will take time away from the next match.  Short deuce will be played.  Only games scored between whistle blows may be counted.  Each team is responsible for keeping their score.  2 Points will be awarded for a match win and 1 point each in the event of a draw.  The top 4 teams in each division will play off for final placings.  If a team defaults its score will be 0 and will still have to pay the $20. The opposition will score 8 points.  All other normal tennis rules and etiquette apply  Any other rules as determined by club committee in the event of a dispute.

We would also like teams to make a concerted effort to wear team colours – yes you can be creative!

Everyone is invited to stay for a drink after the tennis at 8pm – at The Waihopai Tennis Club – Bowls Club.

THE EMPHASIS OF THE COMPETITION IS ON HAVING FUN AND PLAYING GOOD TENNIS AT ALL LEVELS.
