Business Intelligence/Data Transfer Team Leader Role Description

Purpose To lead a team of individuals with a diverse skill set on Data Integration and Business Intelligence Development Projects. The role is highly technical and also encompasses project and stakeholder management.

Key Duties  Lead a diverse team with a wide range of skill sets  Provide functional guidance and direction to the Team Members  Mentoring and developing the Team Members to achieve their maximum potential  To manage, plan and supervise any projects assigned  Work with other teams and departments to deliver projects  To highlight any innovations, suggestions or projects which would improve efficiency, professionalism or profitability  To adhere to prescribed SSP development processes, procedures and standards  Analysing requirements ranging from small to major functional requirements  To ensure that all relevant program, project and test documentation is completed to the required standards  To take all reasonable steps to complete development assignments within realistic deadlines as requested  To report progress of assignments  To assist in the design and specification of components in accordance with the requirements or system specification & product architectural governance  To Implement selected solutions and document the changes made  To estimate time scales for the implementation and to aid Project Managers in costing the overall software development  To prototype new or amended software in accordance with the technical brief given  To work as part of a dedicated product development team, potentially interacting with clients  To keep the project manager informed of current events affecting our business concerns and in particular to produce regular status statements in accordance with the prescribed format  To produce quality software and accurate estimates within realistic timescales  To publish QI (Quality Indicator) after every release and within set tolerances  To measure and report actuals versus estimates for all tasks and variances which must be within set tolerances

Experience & Requirements . Experience in leading small to medium sized teams

SSP – Role Description – BI Team Leader . Demonstrable practical experience in the development of software for external customers. . Demonstrate outstandingly high productivity and ability to successfully conclude complex high pressure assignments. . Experience of a structured Project Management Methodology (Ideally Prince 2) . Ability to work within agreed time estimates. . Knowledge of at least one programming language ideally VB.Net or C# . Good working knowledge of database structures and development . Good working knowledge and responsible attitude to development standards and the software development lifecycle. . Working knowledge of Middleware products desirable . Working knowledge of Data Transfer tools desirable . Working with or managing Business Intelligence projects would be desirable . Strong written and verbal communication skills . Good communication and analytical skills . The ability to communicate at all levels . Enthusiastic and “Can Do” attitude . Experience or working knowledge of Business Objects and/or SSIS would be advantageous . Experience or working knowledge of QlikView would be advantageous . Must be willing and able to undertake international travel as required.
