Job Title: Moveable Feast Coordinator

Grade: Scale 5 (22-25)

Hours of Work: 7.5 hours per week

Salary: Pro rata to full time salary in the range £20,661 to £22,658 (at 2017/18 rates)

Place of Work: Easton Family Centre, BS5 0SQ

Responsible to: BHN Manager

Responsible for: Moveable Feast Volunteers

Purpose of Job: To build on Moveable Feast's established reputation for delivering delicious food while breaking down barriers about asylum seekers through coordinating the Moveable Feast Catering Social enterprise:

1. Deliver 24 food based events in 12 months alongside member (destitute asylum seekers) and host volunteers

2. Coordinate the 15 volunteers (including member volunteers) in Moveable Feast including record keeping and reports to the board of trustees and BHN Funders (in partnership with BHN Volunteer Coordinator).

3. Organise training and equipment purchase to further the aims of BHN Moveable Feast

4. Develop a business plan for how the enterprise could be sustainable after the end of the first year, in discussion with existing team (who have suggested various options for development already including a takeaway, pop-up restaurant, festival catering or wedding catering).

Contract: Fixed term for 1 year (extension possible; funding dependent)

Main tasks:

This role is trying to achieve a lot with limited paid time so it will be essential you have the skills to develop and manage a volunteer team to do the majority of the work:

1.1. Organise and develop specialist training and supervision for all volunteers (food hygiene, first aid etc) in partnership with other local refugee charities. 1.2. Work together with the Volunteer Coordinator to provide recruitment, induction and basic training for all new Moveable Feast volunteers: Promoting volunteering opportunities through different outlets to attract the best possible new volunteers.

Moveable Feast Coordinator JD November 2017 1.3. Working together with the Volunteer Coordinator, identify skilled chefs at the BHN welcome centre and develop their confidence to join Moveable Feast. 1.4. Manage and develop the Moveable Feast volunteers 'on the job'

2. Event Coordination (the other main part of the role will be this)

2.1. Build on existing bookings (15 per year) to increase bookings to 24 per year food based events featuring BHN member chefs to raise funds for BHN by working together with the BHN comms team to improve marketing and online presence.

2.2. Organise and plan events and ensure that the food is delivered to a high standard and fully meeting food hygiene requirements

2.3. Lead a process of business planning and consultation, with the aim of developing new markets for BHN Moveable Feast (weddings, festivals etc) to show how BHN can raise the Moveable Feast target of £15k p.a. Net Income (if this can be evidenced, the trustees will consider making this role more permanent and increasing hours).

3. Other (BHN is a small close knit team, it would be important you could become a strong part of that team) 3.1. Communicate a positive message to the local community about asylum seekers' skills and contributions to society.

3.2. To organise the purchase of equipment and marketing materials to develop the work of Moveable Feast in BHN fundraising

3.2. To promote equality and rights for asylum seekers, model anti-oppressive behaviour and implement BHN's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policy.

3.3. To work within BHN's aims, objectives and policies.

3.4. To work within the wider staff team of BHN, attend staff meetings and participate in training opportunities appropriate to the post.

3.5. Evening and weekend working will be required by prior arrangement.
