1. Rules In selecting projects that fit into the sponsorship program of ASML, we use a number of criteria. The support offered by ASML consists of a financial contribution or the provision of knowledge and services. In what way this is done, depends on the project.
2. What ASML finds important? Sponsorship should contribute to some of ASML’s brand values. Those value drivers mirror our identity and the things ASML values. To give you an idea, we point to three of the most important values for sponsoring: Diversity. ASML needs the best talent the world has to offer. We are a melting pot of backgrounds, talents and skills: more than 14,000 employees from 97 nationalities. In Veldhoven, over 20% of our colleagues have a non-Dutch nationality. Sponsorship should contribute to the ‘diversity’ brand value of ASML. The promotion of technology to young people. We try to improve technical education and awareness among young people. Commitment to the community. We appreciate it when employees are committed to a good cause among their own community, which is why we have a volunteering policy and we contribute to fundraising runs, for example.
3. What projects are not eligible? Projects or activities related to alcohol, drugs and tobacco Political and religious oriented projects or activities Activities whose contribution is for the benefit of an individual, private person or family (student travel, graduation, a sporting challenge) or student parties Organizations that discriminate on grounds of religion, sexual orientation, gender or political affiliation Dangerous sports Requests related to housing (new construction, renovation, restoration) or contents (furniture, appliances) Disaster-related activities Humanitarian relief projects Financing of budget deficits
