Medfusion Basic Marketing Kit: OBGYN

Instructions for Use

Medfusion’s Basic Marketing Kits are designed for practices to use to market their portal features at virtually no cost to you. What that means is that each piece is designed to be printed in-house, in the physician’s own practice, on your own printing equipment. No need to go to Kinko’s or a professional printer to incur printing expenses.

The Basic Marketing Kit consists of four pieces:

1. Easy-to-print flyer 2. Billing inserts 3. Business cards/wallet cards 4. Customer email bundle

Each piece was specifically designed to be printed in black and white, either on white or lightly colored paper. The flyer can also be printed in color if desired.

Each piece is a template that allows you, the practice, to customize the following: practice name, URL, logo, and portal applications to be marketed.

The formats are as follows:  The flyer is a simple 8.5x11” sheet.  The billing inserts are three to a page.  The business cards can be printed using Avery’s business card template “Portrait Centered with Graphic.”

To customize the Basic Marketing Kit, simply replace all of the template copy with your own practice name, URL, logo, and list of applications to be marketed. Everything that can be customized is highlighted in red in each piece. For the billing inserts and business cards, simply change the first one on the page to suit your needs and “copy-paste” that content throughout the rest of the items on the page (2 more for the inserts, 9 more for the business cards). Please note you can change font size and/or spacing if needed to make your new copy fit. When you are finished editing, change the red font back to black using the Font Color button. Then, simply print and distribute!

Ideas on how to use each piece:  The flyers are great for hanging in each exam room, or in the waiting room. Or, have it as a hand-out as patients enter or leave the practice.

 The inserts are ideal for use as billing or other printed communication inserts. Include an insert in each paper bill mailed, each appointment reminder, each newsletter.

 The business cards/wallet cards are a quick reminder for patients to keep with them or to display in a prominent place at home. Print them out and leave them at the front desk for patients to take, or include them with their follow-up cards as they exit. Working with the email bundle In addition to the three marketing pieces, there is a 14-email package included in the Basic Marketing Kit. These emails are templates for your practice to use when emailing your patient base (or even individual patients) about different features and functionalities you want to promote. Or if you just want to announce the availability of your new online patient portal, there are emails for that as well.

The latest release of Medfusion – Release 28 – contains “opt out” capabilities. These capabilities enable you to send emails in bulk to your patient base and give them the ability to choose to not receive certain (practice-initiated) emails. This capability is essential to comply with anti-SPAM laws in the U.S. If you are using a solution other than Medfusion to send mass/bulk emails, please consider including a means for the individual patient to “opt out” of those types of communication.
