Funding from United Way helps support AGENCY programs: list
“Each member agency is expected to meet a set of guidelines we call ‘quality standards,’” said Dorothy McMurtry, United Way community investment chair and assistant United States Attorney. “A team of volunteers meets with each agency to review them in the areas of governance, programs, finance and administration. As a proud United Way member, AGENCY receives an annual allocation to support our operations. We are also a recipient of Emergency Food and Shelter (EFS) funds which is administered through United Way.
More than 20 agencies received $900,000 this year to help people who are unexpectedly facing difficulty in meeting their own basic needs.
Our annual allocation from United Way coupled with the additional $XXX funds from EFS, allows us to help even more people throughout the community. The funds received help us provide emergency assistance such as rent, mortgage, utility or food assistance to people experiencing a crisis in their lives.
We’re grateful to be one of the agencies that receives EFS funding. To find out more about this funding, or if you know of someone who may qualify for help through our agency, please contact: Name at Number.
In addition to this supplemental grant, United Way of Greater St. Louis supports nearly 200 local health and human service organizations in 16 Missouri and Illinois counties. Suggested headline: How United Way and Gifts In Kind partnership benefits AGENCY
From the security of knowing each year our funding from United Way will be there to the identity it brings us as being a quality agency in this community – our partnership with United Way has benefited AGENCY in immeasurable ways.
One of these benefits is through a program called Gifts In Kind (GIK).
United Way’s GIK program gives us the opportunity to receive a variety of items such as office furniture to paper to computers.
Some of the items we have received in the past are: ABC, DEF and XYZ.
GIK has partnerships with virtually every Fortune 500 company. These businesses have partnered with United Way’s GIK program to donate a variety of items for the use of not for profit organizations. Many of the items offered can be received for the cost of a small administration fee or no charge.
Without United Way’s capacity to maintain the GIK program, we would not be able to keep our overhead costs as low as we do, enabling us to spend our resources to help more people in this community. Received one-time grant
