Social Innovation Network
The Social Innovation Network at GCU is an online facility for bringing together academics, practitioners, policymakers and other stakeholders for the purposes of generating and sharing knowledge; enhancing understanding of social innovation; collaborating on research and funding bids; engaging with key stakeholders including communities and policymakers; supporting practitioners; and disseminating information on social innovation initiatives and events. Main activities include:
Academic The publication of an electronic journal specialising in social innovation; Published proceedings from GCU conferences on social innovation
Funding Highlight opportunities within European funding programmes and other sources of funding related to social innovation; Provide a platform for collaborative teams to form and work together on identifying and compiling funding bids for research into social innovation.
Research The Social Innovation Network will host the eJournal of Social Innovation; Development of a multidisciplinary unit of researchers specialising in areas related to social innovation leading to academic publications, reports, articles and books.
Education The Social Innovation Network will be a valuable source of information and insight that will help inform understanding of social innovation. This will allow tutors to integrate research outputs and developing expertise into the curricula across GCU and partner institutions leading to specialist modules and programmes featuring social innovation and social business.
Knowledge transfer The Social Innovation Network will become a globally recognised centre of excellence producing high quality output of interest to stakeholders including academics, government, policymakers, practitioners and the wider community.

Research
This area of the Social Innovation Network provides a repository for research into social innovation and related topics. It provides an opportunity for writers, commentators and researchers to submit content for the benefit of the wider stakeholder community.
Projects
The Social Innovation Network provides an opportunity for users to highlight the social innovation projects they are currently working on or have completed. Projects featuring social innovation funded or commissioned by the EU, local or central government, support agencies, academic institutions, consultancies, research institutes, NGOs and others are welcome. News
The Social Innovation Network provides access to all the latest news and events featuring social innovation. Information includes news updates on important matters affecting the support, development or practice of social innovation, conferences, new publications, media output, practical demonstrations, networking events among others.
Social Innovation at GCU
Social innovation at Glasgow Caledonian University plays an increasingly important role in teaching, research, continuous professional development, consultation and knowledge transfer activities. This area will present updates of social innovation activities undertaken by academics and researchers at the university.
Members
Users of the Social Innovation Network are encouraged to sign up to become network members. The main purpose of the network is to facilitate communication, collaboration and knowledge sharing among the community of academics, practitioners, policymakers, support agents and the wider community. This database of users provides a valuable source of contact information on a wide range of people involved in social innovation related activities. Users can input their contact details and use the database to contact others.
Forum
The Social Innovation Network is a platform for generating and sharing knowledge. The discussion forum allows users to debate, discuss, inform, and co-ordinate communication around social innovation and related topics. eJournal of Social Innovation
